Summary: God wants His will to be done in our lives

The world we are living right now is full of a lot of confusion, worry, anxiety , doubt and fear. So many are very disturbed about what we are hearing and seeing, our world in this time is very discouraging and majority do not understand what is going on and what to do anymore.

When God created the heavens and the earth everything was good - Genesis 1 and now the earth is in chaos and groaning for a release. God is a good God - Psalm 100:5 and faithful to His word. What God says is and cannot be changed, that is how faithful our God is.

God said this to us in Jeremiah 1: 4 - 12

Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument],

And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own];

I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God!

Behold, I do not know how to speak,

For I am [only] a young man.”

But the Lord said to me,

Do not say, ‘I am [only] a young man,

Because everywhere I send you, you shall go,

And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

Do not be afraid of them [or their hostile faces],

For I am with you [always] to protect you and deliver you,” says the Lord.

Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me,

“Behold (hear Me), I have put My words in your mouth.

See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms,

To uproot and break down,

To destroy and to overthrow,

To build and to plant.”

The Almond Branch and Boiling Pot

The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see the branch of an almond tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”

God is whom He says He is and there is no disputing that fact, He says to us that He knew us before we were formed in our mother's womb, therefore He as put His will in us to carry out here on earth. But many of us are not actually walking in His perfect will for our lives and that is where the confusion comes in. And where there is confusion the will of God cannot be done in our lives.

Jesus prayed a powerful prayer in Matthew 26: 36 - 46

The Garden of Gethsemane

Then Jesus came with them to a place called [a]Gethsemane (olive-press), and He told His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” And taking with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee [James and John], He began to be grieved and greatly distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, so that I am almost dying of sorrow. Stay here and stay awake and keep watch with Me.”

And after going a little farther, He fell face down and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible [that is, consistent with Your will], let this cup [b]pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.” And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So, you men could not stay awake and keep watch with Me for one hour? Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the [c]body is weak.”

He went away a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So, leaving them again, He went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words once more. Then He returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Listen, [d]the hour [of My sacrifice] is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners [whose way and nature is to oppose God]. Get up, let us go. Look, My betrayer is near!”

Jesus said the same prayer three times in the following verses

Verse 39

And after going a little farther, He fell face down and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible [that is, consistent with Your will], let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Verse 42

He went away a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done

Verse 44

So, leaving them again, He went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words once more.

Therefore, for the Son of God to pray the same prayer three times proves to us that we are to submit to God's will or plan for our lives.

The word records that in this end times many will be deceived in Matthew 24:24

Matthew 24:24

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones).

The earth is filled with deception at the moment and as the word of God rightly says, the Devil has put a veil in the mind of people so as not to receive the truth of what God is doing or has done - 2 Corinthians 3:14 and this is happening a lot unfortunately.

For us to do what God as planned for us to do from the beginning we need to go into His word and submit to His plan like His Son did in the garden when He was asking for His Father's will and submitting to that will or plan of God for His life.

Jesus had every good reason not to submit to His Father's will but because of His love for His Father, He had o do according to the will of His Father. We cannot live in fear or in deception, everyone of us has a planned will or purpose from God. Not to follow in His plan will bring in a lot of confusion and from that we will not do what God wants us to do.

There is a parable that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 25: 14 - 30

Parable of the Talents

For it is just like a man who was about to take a journey, and he called his servants together and entrusted them with his possessions. To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and then he went on his journey. The one who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he [made a profit and] gained five more. Likewise the one who had two [made a profit and] gained two more. But the one who had received the one went and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

Now after a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. And the one who had received the five talents came and brought him five more, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted to me five talents. See, I have [made a profit and] gained five more talents.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’

Also the one who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have [made a profit and] gained two more talents.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’

The one who had received one talent also came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a harsh and demanding man, reaping [the harvest] where you did not sow and gathering where you did not scatter seed. So I was afraid [to lose the talent], and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is your own.’

But his master answered him, ‘You wicked, lazy servant, you knew that I reap [the harvest] where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter seed. Then you ought to have put my money with the bankers, and at my return I would have received my money back with interest. So take the talent away from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.

For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be taken away. And throw out the worthless servant into the outer darkness; in that place [of grief and torment] there will be weeping [over sorrow and pain] and grinding of teeth [over distress and anger].

This is so true in our lives as well and how it must grieve the heart of God that His children are not fulfilling their purpose as Jesus Christ did when He was here on earth.

Jesus prayerfully did what the Father had planned for Him to do and that is the reason we are here today and been part of His kingdom. He fulfilled his destiny.

How do we in our lives submit to the will of God ?.

- We can ask Him in prayer.

- We can read what He says in His word.

- We can always ask for His direction

- The Holy Spirit is our real helper

The Holy Spirit is the only true helper that can help us to fulfill our destiny here on earth and with what is going on in our realm right now, I sincerely believe that without the Holy Spirit helping us, we cannot do what we are called to do. Let's not be like the man who hid his own talent and was cast out into the outer darkness.

We are to do our call and do beyond what we can do, remembering that it is all about His will and not our will. I want us to have a good recommendation from the Lord on that day. There is a day and a time that the Lord will come back and ask us the same question that He asked this three men.

We are all going to give an account like they did in this parable and my prayer is that we will be able to say to our Lord that you gave me this talent and I have brought in more than you gave to me.

Scriptures on God's will

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Romans 12: 2

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

1 Peter 2:15

For it is the will of God that by doing right you may silence (muzzle, gag) the [culpable] ignorance and irresponsible criticisms of foolish people.

Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Hebrews 10:36

For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.

This are some of the will of God for us His children, but there is a lot to browse through in His word. Let us remember that the Lord is not slacking as to keep His promises in our lives, but we are to hold on in faith. God is not a man that would lie - Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Malachi 3:6; James 1:17.

And by believing in our God that created us in His likeness and in His image we can actually live to do His will in our lives. God is faithful to His promises in our lives, if we choose to be faithful o Him and remain faithful to Him no matter the circumstances.

The word of God says this that God watches over His word to perform it - Jeremiah 1:12. If this is true and I believe it is, then in our lives God is actually watching over all His promises in our lives and it will all come to manifestation in our lives and it will be sooner than we think.

God said this in Isaiah 55:11

So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;

It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),

Without accomplishing what I desire,

And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

What a promise from our heavenly Father!

Remain blessed as you submit to His will for your lives.
