Summary: Having the Lord on your side, gives you the confidences that you are more than a conqueror

In life I’ve had my share of up’s and down. I’ve had my share of let downs, by family, friends and even constituents. But through it all I’m glad to know that when others have let me down, that’s when I know that the Lord is on my side.

How many of you can make that declaration this morning that you know that you know that the Lord is on your side? On this lot this morning I want to remind you, reassure you, I want to repeat, reiterate, restate and recap that the Lord is on your side.

I want to give you hope that when you leave this lot in your car, and enter into the restaurants, your homes, and even your beds, that you to leave here today saying, I’m shouting the victory because, I now know that when I’m going through I still have the Lord is on my side, honk your horns if the Lord is on your side. Let me remind someone that needs to know, that Lord has never left you, he has never forsook you, and that he hasn’t given up on you, and he want you to know from the Word of the scripture, that all things work together for the good of them that love the God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

When we read the scripture it said in Deuteronomy 20:1-4

When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and

seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

This book of Deuteronomy chapter twenty gives us the ethical morals about warfare for the people of God. It gives us the vital directives about their behavior, their demeanor and their conduct during a battle.

If you look at this passage you see that God not only told them how to dress, but he also told them to separate themselves from the world. Also, he instructed them that this is how you are to act, and this is how you are to think when you are going to war. In other words he said, I don’t want my people being scared, frightened, or to even show fear, when your in battle, but instead this is how you conduct yourself in battle.

In the text we see that the Israelites are conquering the promise land at this time and God promises them that he will be with them, his presence will be with them, and that they will have with victory only if they will obey his instructions, his orders and his directions. Listen at what he said. He said when you go to battle and when you see that the enemy has more horses, more chariots, and more people, don’t be afraid because I am with you.

What God is saying is don’t let your heart faint, don’t fall by the wayside, don’t tuck your tail and run, don’t fear, don’t tremble and don’t be terrified because of your enemy. But remember that the Lord your God is he is with you, to fight for you and to save you.

God wants someone here today to know today that he will be with you.

You don’t have to: fear¸ shake¸ shiver, or quiver, because God is on your side. He’s going to walk with you, fight for you and he will cause you to be victorious.

It doesn’t matter who’s against you.

It doesn’t matter who don’t like you.

It doesn’t matter what the odds are.

It doesn’t matter if the conditions seem impossible.

It doesn’t matter if it looks despairing.

It doesn’t matter if the condition or the state of affairs are greater than you are. Just know that when you have the Lord is on your side, you have a winning combination.

Back it up with the WORD PASTOR!!!!

Romans 8:31 says what shall we say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us?

Now when it says if God be for us it is not talking about a strategic position, because God has always been before us, and he is behind us on the left side and on the right side. He is all around us. He never leaves us or forsakes us. He’s always there.

The bible says that He is the author and finisher of our faith. Which means, that the Lord is you.

Look at what Romans 8 and 1 says.

It says: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

You’ve got to know that If we walk in the spirit, then the spirit of God is in us.

It means that we are part of his family.

He looks out for us

He corrects us.

He cherish us.

What shall we say then to THESE things? Romans 8:31 says If God be for us who can be against us?

I know that I’ve messed up, but the Lord is with me.

I that I’ve got some issues, but I also know that the Lord is

with me.

When I’m down he’s there.

When I’m burden he’s there.

When I’m ready to through in the towel he’s there,

When the enemy is coming in like a flood, the bible tell me that the Lord will lift up a standard against them that tells me that he is there. Do you know that he’s there?

I know that the Lord is there, because Psalm 118:6, The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Hebrews 13:6

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

It doesn’t matter what you’re facing in life I dare you to just call the Master Jesus.

Whoever is going through this morning, I dare you to call on his name.

Come on call his name, and tell him my family is in trouble.

Tell him my life is in shambles.

Tell him my pillow is wet with midnight tears.

Tell him I’m pacing the floor all night long.

Tell him that I’ve got the Popeye syndrome, I have took all that I can stand, and I can’t stand no more.

I know that if he can help Daniel in the lion’s den he can help me.

I know that if he can deliver Moses then he can help me.

I know that if he can heal the land then I know that he can heal me.

I know that if he can help Joshua, then he can help me.

I know that he has the whole world in his hands at the same time, so I know that he has me.

I know that the Lord is with me, because he has kept me through thick and thin.

He has kept me through this and that.

He has watched over me through Covid 19.

And I want to say thank you Lord.

So, allow me to tell you this morning that when the Lord is on your side, you don’t have to worry, be afraid, be scared or be intimidated, because he is there to provide for you, take care of you, and guide you, but it’s only because the Lord is on your side.
