God Himself created man in His own image and likeness - Genesis 2:7. We belong to God and we are His children that He loves so much - John 3:16. God in His love and in His infinite mercy could not give us anything less than to give us His breath. In giving us his breath He expects nothing less of Him in us his children.
When I saw this in the scripture it made me to begin to wonder and I am still in the process of meditating on this truth. Remember that the word of God says that the truth we know will set us free - John 8:32. And I really want to be free from the lies of the Devil.
God who created us in His own image and likeness, would want the best for us all and since we are in His image and likeness we really should be bearing the same fruit as God Himself. From the beginning when He created Adam by giving him His breath, His wisdom was in Adam and Adam gave names to all the animals and birds in the garden of Eden.
Genesis 2: 18 - 20
And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [a]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
The Spirit of God in Adam gave him the power to name all the animals and all the birds of the air and this is what the breath of God did in the life of man named Adam. Everything that is in God was also in Adam and this is what as been passing on from generation to generation, and this will definitely continue till Jesus comes back again to reign here on earth.
Therefore, if this is the case, why is man not living as God wants us to live and to be like Him? this is a question that I am asking and not only for me but for every man born of God. God has done it all for us all and I choose to believe that God is expecting us to live as He is living and to be a creator for His Kingdom purpose. It's all about the kingdom at the end of it all.
When God created us and gave us His breath, we became a living being and God said to us in Genesis 1:26 - 31
Genesis 1 : 26 - 31
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [b]moves on the earth.”
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
There are two keys words in this passage that God gave to man.
He said be fruitful and multiply
What is the meaning of Fruitful?
In Webster's dictionary FRUITFUL means
1. Very productive - producing fruit in abundance, as fruitful soil ; a fruitful tree ; a fruitful season.
2. Prolific - bearing children, not barren. be fruitful and multiply - Genesis 1:22
3. Plenteous; abounding in any thing.
4. Productive of any thing ; fertile ; as fruitful in expedients.
5. Producing in abundance ; generating ; as fruitful in crimes.
What is the meaning of MULITPLY?
1. To increase or cause to increase in number; quantity , or degree.
2. To increase in number by reproduction.
God blessed us by saying to us all I want you to be productive in everything that you do, God is saying to us that I have put my own Spirit in you by breathing life into you and I want you to be like me and do what I would say, say what I would say and act the way I would act.
My breath is in you to do exploits - Daniel 11; 32 - 33
My breath is in you to carry out great things in my name and to be an example of who I am to Nations. the Almighty God lives in us through His Spirit in the following scriptures:
John 20:22
And when He said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1: 19 - 21
So we have the prophetic word made more certain. You do well to pay [close] attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and light breaks through the gloom and the morning star arises in your hearts. But understand this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of or comes from one’s own [personal or special] interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Romans 9:17
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “I raised you up for this very purpose, to display My power in [dealing with] you, and so that My name would be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Isaiah 11:2
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and strength,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the Lord
Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then the dust [out of which God made man’s body] will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
Matthew 4: 4
But Jesus replied, “It is written and forever remains written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’”
We are blessed indeed by the Almighty God that as created us and that as given us His breath, so as to be exactly like Him and to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth - Matthew 5: 14 - 16.
Reading Isaiah chapter 11 verse 2 only proves to us what the Lord has given to us, which is wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength , knowledge and the fear of the Lord. This is what the Spirit of God will produce in our lives if we truly believe in Him as our creator.
The word of God records that the one in us is greater than he that is in the world - 1 John 4:4 , He also said that in Christ we live and move and have our being - Acts 17:28, and that it's no longer us that lives but Christ lives in us - Galatians 2:20, He said to us that it's not by our might but by His Spirit that is in us - Zechariah 4:6 and it's also written that our body is now the temple of God - 1 Corinthians 6: 19 - 20.
The breath of God in us does not cause us to live in fear or to be fearful in life, and as long as we can trust in God He will continue to work in us so as to eventually become who He created us to be.
Since, we have God's breath in us then we have his nature, ability, strength ,wisdom, health and prosperity in us as well. God cannot put His breath in us and not give us the full package. That is simply not the God that gave us His only begotten Son to die for us because of the love He as for us all.
A God that His love is unconditional cannot but do things that are not perfect, He also said that He will perfect that which concerns us - Psalm 139:8. God is on his throne and he is faithful to His promises.
A child will want to be like his father because of the love that the child has for his parent, this simply is refering to us as well, since we are God's children we are to be like Him and this is the desire of our Father who as blessed us with His breath.
Scriptures on God living in us:
Ephesians 2:22
In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Colossians 1:27
God [in His eternal plan] chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in and among you, the hope and guarantee of [realizing the] glory.
John 14:23
Jesus answered, “If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit?
Romans 8:10
If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides].
Galatians 4:19
My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you—
Ephesians 3:17
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love,
We are children of God created in His own image and likeness, therefore we are to exhibit His power and do the things He wants us to do to do glory. He wants His name to be glorified in us and through us as a Father. We have been bought by God and are partakers of the kingdom. A kingdom that is everlasting and that can never come to an end. We are to believe in Him as our creator and trust that He that as started a good thing in our lives will finish it until the day that Jesus Christ comes - Philippians 1:6.
God as blessed His body in so many ways that we can bear fruit for the purpose of the kingdom. The breath of God in us will help us to do what He has ordained for us to do, everyone of us is called to be great here on earth and to achieve that we have been given His Spirit - The Holy Spirit like Jesus said in john 14: 16 - 30
John 14: 16 - 30
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.
I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, bereaved, and helpless]; I will come [back] to you. After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. On that day [when that time comes] you will know for yourselves that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him [I will make Myself real to him].” Judas (not Iscariot) asked Him, “Lord, what has happened that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus answered, “If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him. One who does not [really] love Me does not keep My words. And the word (teaching) which you hear is not Mine, but is the Father’s who sent Me.
I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] You heard Me tell you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming back to you.’ If you [really] loved Me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going [back] to the Father, for [c]the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does take place, you may believe and have faith [in Me]. I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of the world (Satan) is coming. And he has no claim on Me [no power over Me nor anything that he can use against Me];
This is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives as long as we choose to believe in what Jesus has done for us on the cross and in His promise of sending the Holy Spirit.
Like we said bearing fruits can be done in so many ways simply becasue we Him him as our helper.
Jesus said something so profound in John 15: 1 - 8
I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit]. You are already clean because of the word which I have given you [the teachings which I have discussed with you]. Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. ]I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch, and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. 8My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.
Jesus is saying here that we need to bear much fruit by abiding in him as the one that can help us through his Spirit to do just that, we can bear spiritual, physical, financial, material, mental and emotional fruit at all times as long as we remain in Him. By bearing fruits we can be a blessing to our generation wherever we are.
Jesus is also saying here that if we do not bear fruits, He takes away and those that bear fruit, He will always prune them so that we can bear more fruits to His praise, let's remember that its all about Jesus and His purpose for our lives is not a mistake but His will for our lives.
Remain blessed in Him as you and start trusting in your creator.
