SEEK GOD DILIGENTLY
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
1). FAITH … At first, this verse reminds us that FAITH is the most important thing in the life of a child of God. We should never lose our Faith. Our Faith in God should be very strong. Nothing in life should make us lose our faith in God.
2). PLEASING GOD … We can please God only if we have Faith and live according to His Word. Pleasing God should be our priority in life. We should not be men-pleasers and live a worldly life and pretend to be believers. The Lord tests and examines our hearts.
3). COME TO GOD … We should never neglect coming into the Lord’s presence every day. We should not come to God only when we face some difficult situations or some sickness in our life. Our heavenly Father is longing to have a relationship with His children. Our personal Prayer time with the Lord should be our most blessed time in the entire day.
4). BELIEF … We must believe that God is there, and that He will reveal Himself to the seeking heart. We must believe that our God can speak to us through His Word. We must also believe that our God will surely answer all our Prayers. We must believe all that the Bible says about our God that He is All-powerful, our Creator, our Healer, our Guide, our Deliverer and our Provider.
5). REWARD … An athlete runs to win a prize. A farmer sows the seeds to reap the harvest. We all work hard to receive our reward. Our Lord is waiting to give us a reward for the way we live in this world. All the reward that we get on earth will never last. But only the reward which the Lord gives us will be eternal. The Eternal Life with Jesus should be our ultimate goal in life. We all should strive to receive that greatest reward from the Lord when we meet Him face to face.
6). SEEK GOD DILIGENTLY … The most important lesson we should learn from this verse is how to seek our living God. Our God is not like any other gods made of stone and clay. It is not enough if we just know about our God but it’s very important to know and experience Him personally. We should know the God whom we worship and serve. Our God is more powerful than any billionaire or any President in this world. We should seek Him diligently with holiness and reverence and with utmost devotion. We should not be negligent and neglectful. We should not seek Him whenever we feel like praying or whenever we have time. It takes a lot of effort and preparation when it comes to seeking God. We should set a time in spite of our busy schedule and we should first read our Bible and then spend quality time in Prayer. The Lord appreciated Mary’s devotion but he corrected Martha. God is not seeking busy believers like Martha involved in lot of activities for Him but the Lord is looking for people who seek Him diligently like Mary. We all should learn to seek God diligently and not be negligent and neglectful.
Dear Friends, let us ask the Holy Spirit to examine our hearts and our mind. May the LORD help us all to be doers of His Word and not just hearers. May we all learn to seek God diligently. And let us also teach and encourage our friends and the younger ones in our Church and Community to be diligent in reading God’s Word and in spending time in Prayer.
