1) Jesus died for us

**who is Jesus?

**what did He do?
___He died to reconcile us to the Father (2 Cor 5:19)
**why did He die for us?
___we were alienated....this is our position...isolated from God....we were separated from God...this is a spiritual state of man
___we were hostile in mind.....this denotes our attitude towards God....it means living in rebellion against God (Ephesians 2:3)
___Engaged ..
Deeds....one's actions will follow one's attitide
**How did He do it?
___He reconciled is through His own blood atú the Cross
7**why did He do it?
___He died for us because the Father loves us and there was no other way to be right before God except that an acceptable sacrifice is made for our sins and that sacrifice was Jesus (Romans 5:17).
___He did it to present us:
¦blameless....without accusations,
¦Holy....set apart from sin, set apart unto God...purity
¦beyond reproach....irreproacgable....one not open to accusations....free of guilt.

**Recognize the difference between position and condition
___you have standing with God because of what Jesus has done. You have been declared a saint. The blood of Jesus has washed your sins away. Jesus will present you to His Father someday....spotlesss,without blame or cause for accusations. Don't confuse the temporal condition of your spiritual life with your position as a child of God. You have been adopted into the family, made a friend of God, reconciled by the blood of Jesus.
**walk in the confidence that God loves you
___this will keep you from falling prey to the devil's lies that you have to be good enough to deserve God's love. God lovez you. He sent His Son to die for you before you even knew Him. His love never changes. He will always love you. You could never be good enough for Him to accept you. It is the righteousness of Jesus that makes us acceptible to Him not our own.
** persevere___hang in there
___His Spirit is there to strengthen you, to enable you, to help you be the person He wants you to be.
2) Jesus forgave our sins
Script: Colossians 1:13-14
**He rescued me
___deliverance from the authority of darkness
__the word 'deliver' is the same word used by our Lord in Matthew 6:13 and 2 Peter 2:9.....it means to rescue.....it means to draw to oneself,
___authority....power....
** He reestablished me
___to remove me from one place and situation to another.
___this word translated means transferred.....means to be transplanted...to be uprooted from one place and firmly planted or established in another place.
**He redeemed me
___He bought me back
___God created us and gave us life.....but because of Adam's sin we are all born with a sinful nature that has betrayed us. Promising us freedom and joy, it sold ud into slavery to sin out of which we could not purchase our freedom
___(1 Peter 1:18-19)
** He released me
___to forgive...erase....to send my sins away
___when we place our trust in Jesus asking Him to.forgive us of our sins that had stained and marked us are erased. (PSALM 103:11-12)
___He did this by paying the price for my sins. He took upon Himself the penalty of my
Sins . Those sins that were counted to me He took them all and He erased all the charges against. He set me free by sending my sins away.(Isaiah 53:4-6)
1) i can live free from the power of sin
2) i now live in the kingdom of God under His authority.
3) since He bought me, i am His to do as He wills.
4) i can live free from the penalty...the guilt and the shame of sin.
