1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
The Holy Spirit was not sent to entertain you. He was sent to change you. On the Day of Pentecost, He empowered the Word spoken so that 3000 people were saved with no help from gold dust, angel feathers, strange jewels or oil dripping hands.
It was the same throughout Acts. People filled with the Spirit won souls, raised the dead, healed the sick, knew the thoughts and intents of the heart and cast out demons. No accouterments or theatrics were required to bring the crowds or generate faith.
Since Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday and forever and the Father is the Lord and changes not then it is rational to assume the same applies to the Holy Spirit. Thus, if He needed no such things then He does not need them now. If He did all those things in Acts, He can still do them today and does which is why there are so many duplications like Pharaoh's magicians. Seek the real diamond of God's truth and His Spirit, not the entertaining Zirconium.
