Summary: The whole world has been on frequent lockdowns to prevent the further spread of pandemic. How does one respond in such a situation?

Spiritual Response

1.Strengthen

Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Our first response in such a time of fear and anxiety must be to become strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. If there is any hope for the world today, it's in the Lord. Therefore we need to strengthen ourselves in the Lord and in the power of His love. This is not the time to give up or be laid back, but the time to clothe ourselves with the might of the Lord.

2.Struggle

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The reason we need to get stronger in the Lord is because we have a great struggle. Apostle Paul tells us that our fight is not against flesh and blood but we do have a struggle against the evil forces and spiritual forces of darkness in the heavenly realms. These are the hidden forces that control the nations and their leaders; the very cause behind the selfish schemes we see taking place in this world. We are called to prevail in this struggle and overcome it by our actions, words and decisions.

3.Stand

Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil

Even in the midst of this struggle we face in the world, our focus is to stand ground on the day of trouble or evil not fall back. The Lord has promised to let us fall and he has also given us a spiritual armor that help us stand.

This armor from the Lord consists of living a life free from falsehood and unrighteousness. We keep a check on our salvation and the faith we have. In the face of evil, we are to be always ready to move, fitted fully with the armor of God.

4.Spirit-led Prayers

 Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Always praying in the spirit. This is the greatest need of the hour and the best way to respond in such a situation as a believer. A prayer of repentance, a prayer of warfare asking the Lord's mercy on the land; we ought to be ready to pray at any hour and only being given to such continuous, spirit-filled prayers can help us prevail through dangerous times.

Physical response

The Lord God created man in His own image. There is a big responsibility that we have. Even as we keep up with prayers and charity. This pandemic has kept everyone in isolation and people have started to become more and more self-centered. For a believer, however, this comes as the perfect opportunity to show love and work passionately on the Lord's behalf. Some of the ways you can move through this period of need is by:

Heed to the rules your government and leaders lay down for the protection of yourself and others

Do good wherever you can

3.Don’t fear, but hope in the Lord for His mercy

As bad as the situation is, be given to doing the work of the Lord God. This is our protection and healing

As the world struggles to find a cure for it, people all over are filled with dread and selfishness. It is at such a time, God calls His children to respond with prayers, repentance of heart and offering ourselved to love a dying world. Let us take up this challenge, arm ourselves with the armor from God and prevail through spirit filled prayers. The Lord will have mercy.
