Each Doing Their Part
Texts: I Chronicles 13: 1-14; Numbers 4: 15; 7: 9
Introduction: Perhaps one of the great defects we have today is to blame others for failures in our personal lives, in our family, in our work environment or in our ecclesiastical community. We hold the government responsible for everything that happens. The big question is; what I've been doing to change the situation. Am I doing my part. Things are like that because ... and I am what I'm doing. Is the failure of my marriage just the fault of my spouse? Is my financial life horrible because of the high prices? Nothing goes right because God forgot about me? He doesn't care about me.
Part I - When My Satisfaction Is Most Important
The Ark - 1 meter long and 60 cm wide. Mercy seat, golden crown around and two cherubs one on each side. Inside the tablets of the law, a vase of ouoro with the manna and the flowered stick of Aaron.
When things start without consulting God and asking for his guidance from the Lord, we tend to go through moments of frustration and unpleasant surprises.
David wanted to make Jerusalem the political and religious center of the people. The first thing to do was to bring the Ark of God to the city of Jerusalem.
David consulted the army leaders. Thirty thousand men were summoned. A party had been planned.
David was familiar with the rituals needed to transport the Ark. Only the children of Coate could transport. It should be carried on the shoulders. It should not be carried in cars. When the Philistines returned it, the Lord accepted it because there was no knowledge. The Lord does not take time for ignorance into account.
Even when transporting in a car we see a wrong attitude.
The king was more concerned with drawing attention to the act than carrying out divine orders. We can try to do the best, but when we despise God's guidance, the Lord does not accept our accomplishment, if we are aware of the responsibilities.
Part II - In the wrong place and at the wrong time
Uzza and Aiô guided the car. Their responsibility was to guide.
At the moment of the oxen stumbling, leading Uzza to hold the Ark. Uzza was no longer where it should have been.
Uzza did not fulfill his responsibility twice. First you shouldn't be leading the Ark like that, Second you should be leading the animals.
God did not tolerate Uzá's carelessness and irresponsibility. We often want God to accept things the way we want to do them. Our vision is so selfish that we become intolerant, when things are not our way.
If Uzza was where it should have been, the accident would have been avoided. If each one performs its function, everything can be different. It is like this in our house, it is like this in the church. Whoever wants to do everything does nothing as it should be done. Whoever does nothing, thinks that the other is to blame for everything. We will share the responsibilities. Be where you belong.
Conclusion
Three months later the Ark was taken to Jerusalem the way God wanted it to be.
You have done your part. You have fulfilled your responsibilities. You have been a true collaborator. In your home the responsibilities are well divided and fulfilled. Those who fly too much do nothing. Why are many frustrated in some aspect of life? Because they cannot be constant and cooperative.
