THE WORLD VERSUS COVID-19
It is clear that the world is facing an unseen enemy whose scientific name is The Corona virus; otherwise known as COVID-19; the invisible enemy. I would like to share with you, what God is ministering to me at this moment, through the events of these days. COVID-19, is a virus from Asia: it came and caught everyone unawares and is spreading throughout the world with great speed. It came in with a great noise and sowed panic in the hearts of the low and mighty, and is keeping people on their toes day and night. It intends to destabilise those whose hope is in the Lord but we should not allow it (Psalms 91). Here are some relevant Bible verses that show what God did for His children in the past and I would ask that you appropriate it to our country and to yourself because God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
God’s promise and covenant: Genesis 9: 14 – 17 “And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah: “This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth”.
Psalm 105:39
“He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night”.
God is saying unto us, that His covering is upon our nation, like a rainbow, reminding Him of His covenant with us, that He will not destroy us. This means that COVID-19 is not permitted to destroy the world; whether at home or abroad. Let us therefore say to this storm, like Jesus did: “Peace, be still”. We thank God for eveyone and for the fact that we are a set of people that know and fear God. Although we have allowed the world to creep into the church, there is still a remnant of believers that know God and fear Him and serve Him in truth and in holiness. That is why God is keeping us safe. Do not forget to apply the BLOOD OF JESUS on the lintel of your house, home, life, work, career, country and all that is yours.
The lockdown
Our world is entering into a new phase. The present lockdown is the transition between what the world used to be and what it shall become. A reality we must come to terms with, is that the temporary lockdown will lock down some things permanently. Our world will no more be the same; international politics, protocols, economy, social ethics, will change many things and governments will bring up new policies to regulate immigration, international travels, religions, church attendance and activities, mission work, etc. We shall soon be talking of a post-covid era. During this period when people are confined to their homes and are trying to figure out what the future holds, I believe that God is saying to His Church ; “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be over past” Isaiah 26:20.
The government and the governors acknowledge the fact that the battle against this enemy, is a fierce one. They know that the weapon to use in fighting it, has to be a special one. It has touched every aspect of life; planted fear in the hearts of people, robbed them of loved ones, stripped them of their livelihood and so on. Christians know that it is more of a spiritual battle, than medical. The Bible wants us to use spiritual weapons; not canal ones, in the pulling down of the stronghold of this enemy and cast it down with all its imaginations. Let us pray for individual and collective revival; so that the Holy Spirit will come back into the Church and take absolute control, as we hand over to Him.
There is hope; everyone knows that it will soon come to an end and that the world could gain from this situation. This gain will spread across every sector of life and our country: economy, health, education, etc. The Church too should gain from it, if our leaders concede their seat to the Holy Spirit to lead as in the time of old.
The Church
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
God views His followers as His representatives here on earth. He expects the Church to intercede when things go wrong between the world and God. During this season of COVID-19, this verse should be taken seriously and we should pray until God delivers the world. We need to follow this verse step by step and come back from the backslidden state of the Church. Some people are worn out by persecution and personal problems and some are wondering if God actually exists. We should remember the predictions of Daniel 7; it is clear that we are in the End Times. Jesus is coming soon. It is time for the Church to come together, put aside all doctrinal and methodology differences that have torn Christians apart and have made them go, one against the other. The world has crept into the Church in the name of modernisation. The Holy Spirit has been relegated to the status of an onlooker. God has been stripped of His divinity and the Bible is seen as a story book and not the Word of God. Each Christian and the entire body of Christ, should see that the job laid down by Christ is the Great Commission and not motivational speeches about what people can get from God neither is it the teachings on how to live in prosperity in this world, without the thought of going to Heaven. God created Man for His pleasure and after Adam fell, God sent His Son, Jesus into the world to reconcile His creation with Himself. Each individual should get ready for the Rapture and make sure that he or she is qualified to be used by God in bringing lost souls and prepare them for the Kingdom of God. Christians need to go back to the basics of Christianity and rebuild on the foundation that Jesus laid down for the Church. Church leaders have to redefine church and review their activities in line with the dictates of the Bible, the Word of God. We cannot do what we like, but what pleases God. We should open the eyes of our inner man, in order to see where we have fallen out; retrace our steps and come back to God.
Beloved, as you are reading this piece, examine yourself; are you the person that church members or other people see you to be? Have you met the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you officially invited Him into your life? Have you asked Him to come into your life and become your personal Lord and Saviour? You can answer all questions things right there, where you are; all you need do, is acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner and that Jesus came into this world to die for your sins, in order to reconcile you with God. Confess your sins to Him, ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Invite Him into your life; ask Him to come in and become your Lord and Saviour. Promise Him, that you will never go back to your sins again and that you will live a life that is pleasing to Him, all the days of your life and you will not do anything that will make God remove your Name from the Book of Life. You would also need to call for the in-filling of the Holy Ghost. Ask Him to fill you with the power that the Disciples received on the Day of Pentecost. Pray until something happens and your life will never remain the same again. My prayer for you is that you encounter God and the fulness of His holiness. Read your Bible every day, in order to discover the power of His Word, so that you can do His will all the time and be prepared for the Rapture of the saints. Jesus is coming soon!
Maranatha!
