JEZEBEL
Just because someone is speaking in tongues and prophesying, don’t blindly accept it, listen but take it to the Lord in prayer, otherwise you might sometimes land up in a mess. Are you listening? What is this Jezebel spirit? This is a dangerous spirit that is sent to:
STEAL
KILL
DESTROY
most specifically to leaders, churches, pastors and Christian homes. Caveat! If you are serving the Lord in any capacity and if you are an anointed person, be sure to have a head-on-collision with this Jezebel spirit at some point or the other in your life, I would like to equip you’ll so that you fight that spirit with courage. Most important identify the spirit…..
A)MANIPULATOR! At any point of time, have you felt the atmosphere change hostile and antagonistic, suddenly arguments break out and the air is filled with rage and venom? YES….a JEZEBEL spirit is there in the midst of it all! Understand, this spirit is not going to reveal itself, it would move the coins very shrewdly, invisibly against you, no….no….it is not going to make a lot of noise and spoil the show, the plan of the enemy is to break and destroy you silently. Sometimes the person who is trying to be soft and smooth to you is the real Jezebel, take it from me. I know this piece is going to bless someone out there! MANIPULATOR! That is other name for the Jezebel Spirit! This is very deep, the Jezebel spirit would go to great level, intricately pull out yarns about you and against you to many people in order to spoil your name and then be with you, mark my words, be with you, call you on the mobile, speak with you while simultaneously the spirit digs a BIG hole for you. This is eerie! When the spirit happens to be someone very close to you, then the pain and agony is going to be deep; however, through prayer, God can work out things for you. If God is for you who can be against you?
We have seen great ministries being destroyed by this Jezebel spirit, and what hurts me most is that the spirit effortlessly does her job because the believers fall prey to her astute, cunning devices easily. Apostle Paul said: Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.(2 Corinthians 2:11) God expects us to be sharp and alert! Are you listening? In one particular church, the pastor was ministering to a young, demon possessed, hindu covert girl, since she was the only saved girl in her family, she was facing lot of persecutions. On grounds of compassion, the pastor brought the girl to his home in order to pray for her deliverance; however, the pastor was unaware of the demon’s plan to destroy his marriage, ministry and church. Let me pause here to say that we need to hear the still voice of the Holy Spirit before we jump to take such drastic decisions, lack of prayer, fasting and meditation in the Word misleads one into doing such things. I visited the church which is in a remote village, for a weeklong meeting and I was staying in a room close to the pastor’s house, the Holy Spirit revealed the evil plans of the Jezebel spirit against the man of God. I did intervene and counsel the pastor but the sad story is that the church and the ministry dwindled off eventually.
This man of God is a very bold man, he would carry sick people on his shoulders and take them to the hospital, would stay with sick people throughout the day in the hospital, carry idols and throw them into the river himself; nevertheless, he had one weakness in him and that was PRAYERLESSNESS! Are you listening? We got to pray for people who are being held captive by the demon: 2 Timothy 2:26 “they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” Only prayer can save such situations! In the case of the above pastor, the wife is also a lazy woman who subtly watches cinema during the night and sleeps all the time, giving free entry to destroy their lives. Memories of that village, the hot and delicious food that I ate in that church, the revival that took place and the fatal fall ……..brings tears to my eyes. It is just not that church, I have seen many pastors, youth leaders fall because of the evil manipulation of the Jezebel spirit.
B)MISLEADING SPIRIT: Revelations 2: 20“But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess..”
Look at this, the church of Thyatira, they had love, faith, service and perseverance but it was tolerating the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and the Bible says,”she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.” (Revelations 2:20) Did you see that? The spirit of Jezebel would MISLEAD the people, which is very dangerous. That Sunday class teacher may look harmless and cute, but watch out, she might be carrying a Jezebel spirit! I am not scaring you but cautioning you! The Bible, in fact, tells us that Satan is devious and subtle. He tries to take advantage of us with “his schemes” (2 Corinthians 2:11). He can appear to be harmless and reasonable, and even “disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Yet he is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).
Back while working for a multinational bank, I was holding afternoon prayer cell, suddenly midway an officer of vice president ranking joined our prayer which was being held in the terrace. He seemed to be very nice and offered various facilities for our meeting; however, he turned to be a devil in disguise. He would meet the people after my meeting and tell them ‘Bala’s doctrines are too strong so you don’t have to believe everything’. It took an ugly turn when he started having an affair with a young woman of our team and he also managed to turn most of the members against me. But God revealed the ugly side of him and he committed suicide because he was already a married man with two kids. So the Jezebel spirit need not necessarily be a woman, it can operate through a man too! Caution!
C) LUST: 2 Samuel 11:4” David sent messengers and took her (Bathsheba)
The plan of Jezebel is not to attack one person but through that person attack a whole nation or family! The Jezebel spirit connives strategically and attacks, unlike believers who unwisely fall into the trap quickly! Watch out!
David’s cool command ‘bring her’ and the entry of Bathsheba into the life of David and his daring sexual transgression did not just end with that fateful day but had serious repercussions which not only affected him but also David’s family, and the entire nation. The whole nation paid the price for David’s immorality. Some of us invite devils into our life which are creating mayhem and causing chaos! Caveat! 1 Thessalonians 4:3”For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality..”
This is a very important message which should dig out the unwanted stuff in your life that had caused immense loss, read it with prayer otherwise satan would give you enough reasons to justify the sins in your life. You would consider that person who visits your home regularly as harmless and friendly but you failed to understand that he has been sent into your home to rob your peace, joy, holiness and tranquility. Be spiritually sensitive to identify the Jezebel spirit lurking in the corner of your home, thoroughly check out the friends that you are surrounded with and that of your family too. In my own life, I was able to identify the ‘evil agents’ only after suffering damages and severe heart aches, therefore this is major issue, caveat!
Three teenaged children from the same family had joined our Abide Angel Home and our Abide School who were excellently talented and intelligent but not many knew the eerie, evil Jezebel spirits that were hidden inside them. I could feel disturbance in the air and activities of the other students also slowly started to change, did we not read in the Bible, “Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?”(1 Corinthians 5:6) They had the best smile on the surface of their face with ugliness inside their hearts, I did all I can to save those children, one day God spoke to me through the below scripture: Proverbs 22:10 Drive out the scoffer, and contention will go out, Even strife and dishonor will cease.” I am directly speaking to someone out there, ‘drive out the scoffer in your life so that you have peace’, drive out the illegal relationships, drive out all corrupted practices in your life, drive out behaviors that contrast your walk with God….
1 Corinthians 5:7”Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump….”
D) TORMENTING SPIRIT: 1 Kings 19:3”Elijah was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.”
I tell you, if I don’t write my own experience with this evil spirit then this article would not be rooted in integrity. It is not that I am a superwoman with wings and I had mastered it all, never, I have understood one thing and that is, we should never underestimate the Jezebel spirit. Only through deep fasting and prayer can you come out victoriously! After an anointed crusade or seminar, where you had operated under the deep anointing of the Holy Spirit, don’t expect to be spared……be equipped for war! Unexpectedly things would turn up against you, arguments would break out that very evening after the glorious meeting…! I would have this strong feeling to just flee away from everything…this is scary isn’t it? Mother of two children….this thought is atrocious; however, God saved me from catastrophe and I now write this piece so that many get encouraged. You are not alone in this battle my friend! Stand and win!
The Jezebel spirit wants to see you run away from marriage, run away from ministry, run away from your calling, run away from your responsibility, run away from your destiny, run away from your vision, run away from your family, home and church…….I write this message for those of you who feel this way.. I am not here to write a few points quoting scriptures, but I am here to give you my life testimony and encourage you to stay firm and not run away. Are you listening?
Look at the above scripture, we find Elijah afraid of Jezebel! Elijah? The prophet who boldly faced king Ahab and the queen Jezebel was now afraid and running for his life, this is incredible. The Bible says that he ran for his life, did he even care for his life earlier? Why did this happen? That’s the scare, fear and panic the Jezebel spirit spews over the servants of God, God’s children and believers, if we are not careful, we would fall prey! Fear is the weapon the enemy uses to torment the believers, are you there?
David Flees to the Philistines- 1 Samuel 27: 1 Then David said to himself, "Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape into the land of the Philistines. Saul then will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand." 2 So David arose and crossed over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath. David was terrified that Saul would kill him, so he jumps over to the enemy territory and felt that Saul would not be able to find him in Gath. How unwise! After prolonged sufferings, betrayals, wandering, uncertainty, pain and losses, you tend to lose hope and the sheen begins to wear off from your life, that’s exactly what happened to David, is that how you feel now? Once you transgress, disobey and go away from God then how do you expect protection???
E) MOCKING BOISTEROUS SPIRIT : 2 Kings 9:32”Then he lifted up his face to the window and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" And two or three officials looked down at him.”
Jezebel spirit mocks and guffaws at God and His servants, if you find anybody doing this then make sure it is this spirit. This spirit also spews out blasphemy and brutally attacks the church, God and His servants, we find this mentioned in Revelations 13:6”It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.”
I would like to finally talk about the downfall of Jezebel and complete this sermon, please make a note, if we are with God and obey Him then no demon can touch us. God would send a servant like Jehu to help you out! Say Amen. I would like to expound the above scripture, Jezebel was the wife of Ahab, king of Israel, who was dead by now and mother of Joram who was also killed for all the atrocities they committed. Jehu was anointed for this purpose by God and now in the above scripture that we are meditating today, we see God executing judgment over Jezebel for her whoredoms and witchcrafts, misleading the people of Israel into idol worship and the murder of Naboth. Jehu was now coming to Jezreel to kill Jezebel! Stay with me, don’t get bored with history, we have a learning here today through the wicked woman Jezebel.
Jezebel knew that Jehu is dangerous and that he is now coming next for her blood, though she had lost two beloved people of her family: husband and son; yet, we see her daring the judgment of God. She took no notice of the hand of God gone out against her family, horrendously wicked until the end, she refused to look at her own sins and repent. Instead of humbling herself before God, she said: “Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?” This is foolishness to the highest level! People who have no fear of God behave so, they do and say certain things that eventually lead them to their fatal fall. Caveat! This is what we see even today, don’t we? When we are confronted by a servant of God who is God’s instrument with His words, we need to be submissive and listen to him, are you listening? Not many take it seriously though, even today this message comes to you today to warn you to set right your life. God’s wrath is already executing judgment, with lockdown all over the world, we need to humble ourselves and repent.
We see Jezebel mock Jehu. She paints and decorates herself and looks out of the window in a last attempt to lustfully seduce him; but Jehu was cautious and he called out, “who is on my side?” To his surprise two or three officials looked down at him. He said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down, headlong, some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses and all that was left was her skull. Her own assistants helped to kill her, when God is not with you, people on your side would turn against you, this is eerie. God bless you!
