Summary: When the enemy of our soul comes to attack us, we need to realize there is nothing that is off limit to him.

IS THE BLOOD APPLIED TO YOUR DOOR POST OF YOUR HEART?

When the enemy of our soul comes to attack us, we need to realize there is nothing that is off limit to him. But Jesus died on the cross, was buried and resurrected to destroy the curse that was over us and to save us from our sins. Jesus has accomplished his part it is now time for us to stand in that victorious power and do our part. What is our part? We need to go to Revelation 12:11

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

What is the meaning of the blood on the door post so the Angel of Death would pass over the Israelite's? This was the last plague before Pharaoh would allow Moses and the children of Israel to leave Egypt.

What is the meaning of blood on the door post and what does it stand for today in our lives?

When Joseph was in Egypt, he delivered the members of his family from famine.

The blood was applied to the door posts by the Israelite's to prevent the angel of death from coming in. The song, “there is power in the blood,” still resonates in our heart because there is power in His blood over us.

Let’s look at Exodus 12:3-13 NIV “Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: on the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for a lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. Then they shall eat the flesh on that night: roasted in fire with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire-it’s head with its legs and the entrails. You shall let none of it remain until morning and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. And thus you shall eat it, with a belt on your waist, your staff in your hand. So you shall eat in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt, on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: ‘I am the Lord.’ Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will Pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

We need to understand in times of panic or any crisis we must continually plead the blood of Jesus Christ over them. No one is free from battles that plague us, but again, Jesus has reversed the plague. Some come across their battle early in life like Jacob. Jacob started his battle right in the womb and the fight was so terrible that by the time Esau came out first, Jacob was holding Esau’s leg.

1. There is nothing in life that we should fear. We only need to understand things because fear comes from ignorance (Not being ugly here. Without knowledge are we not in the dark, naive, uneducated, or “ignorant “?)

2. God from the beginning of the foundation of the of the world decided to save us from defeat not from trouble.

3. Ninety nine percent of the bad things that you worry about will never come to pass if we are covered in the blood.

4. God is more interested in making us what we ought to be, rather than what we would like to be.

While the world is in chaos, we should have the peace of the Lord in our lives. God controls everything that happens in our lives. Every place we go, God goes before us. We are not to cower to the things of the world and become like the world in the face of adversity.

The crisis you are facing right now will end, in God’s time and He will get the glory for it.

Do you remember the song we sang as little children in church? “Onward Christians Soldiers?” If you know it, start singing again.

What is the characteristics of a soldier of the Lord?

1. A true soldier keeps off worldly entanglements. “No one that warreth entangles himself with the affairs of this world.” (2 Timothy 2:4) NIV

2. A true soldier is covered by the Holy Spirit.

3. A true soldier is known by this armor and weapons given to him by the Lord. We are to take up the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefor put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and thee sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord’s people.”

4. A true soldier must follow our leader, Jesus Christ.

5. A true soldier must be courageous, bold, and not dismayed by either threats or the strength of the enemy.

6. A true soldier never turns his back on the enemy.

In our own case, our victory is sure. Our weapons are spiritual and our Captain is superior because He is the King of kings and the Lord of Lords.

When do you need the blood on the doorpost of your heart?

1. When you find that all your efforts fail to achieve success.

2. When you are moving backward instead of forward.

3. When you are under the torment of the spirit of fear.

We have to exercise our faith in the Lord in times like we are facing today. We must continually claim we are victorious because of the blood on our heart.

PSALM 91:1-9 NKJV “HE WHO DWELLS IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH SHALL ABIDE UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY. I WILL SAY OF THE LORD, “HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS; MY GOD, IN HIM WILL I TRUST.” SURELY HE SHALL DELIVER YOU FROM THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER AND FROM THE PERILOUS PESTILENCE. HE SHALL COVER YOU WITH HIS FEATHERS. AND UNDER HIS WINGS YOU SHALL TAKE REFUGE. HIS TRUTH SHALL BE YOUR SHIELD AND BUCKLER. YOU SHALL NOT BE AFRAID OF THE TERROR BY NIGHT NOR BY THE ARROW THAT FLIES BY DAY, NOR OF THE PESTILENCE THAT WALKS IN DARKNESS, NOR OF THE DESTRUCTION THAT LAYS WASTE AT NOONDAY. A THOUSAND MAY FALL AT YOUR SIDE. AND TEN THOUSAND AT YOUR RIGHT HAND. BUT IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR YOU. ONLY WITH YOUR EYES SHALL YOU LOOK AND SEE THE REWARD OF THE WICKED. BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE THE LORD, WHO IS MY REFUGE, EVEN THE MOST HIGH, YOUR HABITATION.”

That scripture encourages us not to succumb to the enemy’s tactics because He is our all in all.

Trust God for what you need! Thank Him first of all for Who He is and what He knows is best for you!

Be safe. Be secure. Be blessed. Believe in Him who is caring for you and me.
