Wake Up, Cast Off, And Dress Up!
I. Wake up starting each day.
Romans 13:11 (KJV) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
A. A lot to do? Then start with Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
B. Today is the Day of Salvation.
1. The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.
II. Cast off the darkness from your life.
Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, ……………(WHAT SHALL WE DO? THROW OFF) 13. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
A. Some people change their ways when they see the light, others only when they feel the heat.
III. Dress up.
Romans 13: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, …….
……………. and let us put on the armour of light.
Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ...
A. We have to dress with God’s provisions He has in His Word.
1. Remember that A mule dressed in a tuxedo is still a mule.
IV. READY TO FACE ALL THINGS.
Romans 8:37 (KJV) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:31 (KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
A. Do all this, then we can not lose for winning, we can not go under for going over.
B. I love the chorus. Garment of Praise.
Put on the garment of praise
For the spirit of heaviness
Lift up your voice to God
Praise with the Spirit
And with understanding
Oh magnify the Lord!
