“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praises shall continually be in my mouth” – Psalm 34 vs 1.
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah and they were smitten” – 2 Chronicles 20 vs 22
The world does not want you to thank God because they know that when you thank God and Praise God, your God will do more for you. I pray, your heart and your mouth will give thanks and praise God. Do you know that your enemies are sad when you praise God? This is because they know there is power in praises. In Joshua 6 vs 20, the wall of Jericho fell when the people of God shouted and praised God. Today, by the power of God, every wall of Jericho in your life will scatter, in the name of Jesus.
As you read this message, I want you to think deep. That road that you passed many times this year, is the same road that some people passed and they were attacked by robbers. I want you to be a deep thinker. It is not by your power that you are alive today. It is by the grace and mercy of God. I want you to be a deep thinker today. Do not think that everybody around you wants you to be happy. There are many people doing things against you because they want you to be sad. But God has not allowed all these to have effect on you. You need to appreciate God with praises. There is power in praises.
When praises go up, blessings come down. Today, receive the blessings that praises bring. You have many reasons to praise God. There are people in hospitals who are paying money for the oxygen gas that they are breathing. But you can enjoy the same air of God, free of charge. Somebody thought that God has not done enough for him to warrant praising God. Yet, he has a car that somebody wishes to be given for him to jump up in jubilation unto God. Are you saying that you cannot praise God because you have no money to buy that new clothes you desire, when there are people on the hospital bed, who are willing to give off those clothes if only they can be healed of their infirmities? Beloved, let us praise God. You need to praise God, for His mercies, goodness, and love to you.
All of us need to praise. God, all the time. I pray for you, celebration will never end in your life, in the name of Jesus. Your mouth will not be closed to praises in the name of Jesus. Sound of praises will not cease in your life in the name of Jesus. By the power of God, as you read this message, you will praise God and experience the power of praises, in the name of Jesus.
What is Praises?
Praises are words and songs of appreciation from a grateful heart. Praises are adorations made to God or somebody or people who has done you good. Praises are an acknowledgment of the help that your life has received from God. Praises are songs, words, and praises made in jubilation from your mouth and heart because you appreciate the great things that God has done in your life. When God blessed Hannah with a child, she praised God (I Samuel 2). When God disgraced Pharaoh at the Red Sea, Moses and the children of Israel sand unto the Lord, saying, “ I will sing unto the Lord, for He hath triumph gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea (Exodus 15 vs 1). When Leah conceived and bore a son, she said, “Now will I praise the Lord” and she called his name, Judah (Genesis 29 vs 35). The name ‘Judah’ means “Praise”. In 2 Samuel 22 vs 4, David said “ I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. David knew that the more he praised God, the more the enemies cannot conquer him. He understood what happens when people praise God.
What happen When You Praise God?
There are many things that happen when children of God praise God. Praises attract God into your life and matter. When you praise God, Praises communicate your love and appreciation to God. Try praises and you will see that praises can attract to you heavenly assistance to fight your battles. Closed doors can be opened through praises. Praises here on earth can instigate praise in the heavenlies on your behalf.
The Challenge of Praises
Anybody can praise God, when they deliver a new baby, or when you are given a new car. You can praise God, when you get a new job or receive a promotion. I am not sure that many people know that if they can praise God when they are yet to have a new child, or when they have no car, or no job or promotion, their praises can open the doors of new baby, new car, new job and promotion to their lives,
Not many people know that praise is a weapon that can bring you victory in battle
Not many people know that Praises is a spiritual medicine that can heal souls. Praises are not ordinary exercises. They bring great results to peoples’ lives.
Not all praise brings results. When you praise God from your mouth alone and not from your heart, it may not yield the expected results. When you praise God, with an unserious mind, there is doubt if anything meaningful will come out of this. There are praises that do not amount to anything. For example, when you are praising God to mock God, you are wasting your time. A woman breaks away from her husband without any divorce and entered into a strange relationship with a married man. The wife of the man and his children are suffering because of the neglect of their father who spent more of his time with the woman outside. When the woman outside clocked fifty years of age, she organized a big party and got a praise team to come and sing and praise God on her behalf. On that day, the birthday woman had the husband of another woman to stand by her, in praising God. I am not sure that God will be happy with their praise that day. You cannot praise God aright when you are making some other people sad. You cannot praise God aright when you are living in sin. You cannot praise God aright, when the way you live, does not show that you really know God. There are praises and there are praises. There are praises that are not acceptable to God, and there are praises that make God’s heart to be happy. There are praises that will bring great results in people’s lives.
What are the Praises that Can Bring Divine Results?
There are some Praises that can bring good and joyful results into your life. Let me share with you five praises that will bring divine results into your life.
(1) Thankful Praises:
Thankful Praises are praises that come from a heart that is full of thanks. When you praise God from a heart that is thankful, heaven sends more blessings into such life. Hannah had no child for many years. She cried unto God in prayer. God gave her a child called Samuel. In I Samuel 2 vs 1, Hannah praised God and said, “My heart rejoiceth in the Lord”. Following her praises unto God for Samuel, the Bible tells us that God blessed Hannah with three sons and two daughters (I Samuel 2 vs 21). If you praise God, for one thing, God will bless you with more. You need to praise God from a thankful heart. As you are receiving this message, praise God for His mercies, His love, His favour, His protection and His provisions in your life.
When you give God thankful praises, the result is that God will delight to bless you, the more. Those who praise God from a thankful heart, usually have their ‘tanks’ to be very full.
(2) Praise in the Midnight
Number two Praise that brings great results is the Praise in the midnight. In Acts 16 vs 25, it is recorded that “And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sand praises unto God and the prisoners heard them”. Paul and Silas praised God in the midnight.
By the midnight, it was not just the midnight of the physical midnight of the day. Paul and Silas praised God when they were going through the midnight of life. They were under an evil arrest.
Will you be able to praise God, when you are passing through the midnight of life? Dear reader, when your life is facing the attack of the enemies, you are going through your midnight. Will you be able to praise God in that midnight? You are in the midnight of life when adversaries are accusing you wrongly for what you never did. Will you still be able to praise God, in that midnight? It is midnight in some families when they lose a beloved one to death. Will you be able to praise God in such midnights? It is midnight when forces of darkness decide to attack you and it appears that they are too many that hate your soul. Will you remember to praise God in your midnight?
Beloved, we all pass through our midnights. Some years ago, some hoodlums were instigated from my university to attack our church. They broke our glasses and chairs. We went through our midnight. I have also passed through my own midnight when I was accused wrongly for things that I never did and which I detested. It was midnight in my life. It was a time when the voice of the adversaries appear to be very loud that some thought they were right because of their numbers. I have gone through my midnights, but God has been my mighty deliverer from the hands of my adversaries.
Brethren and friends reading this message, we all pass through our midnights. One strategy for overcoming our midnights is to praise God even in the midnight, just like Paul and Silas did. Are you passing through your own midnight now? Please, praise God still. Paul and Silas were arrested and brought before a magistrate because they cast out demons from a girl. But in prison, they prayed and sang praises. Their midnight praises attracted help from above to them. Bible tells us that “suddenly, there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately, all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” (Acts 16 vs 26)
When you praise God in the midnight, your midnight praise will attract supernatural intervention. Your midnight praise can bring thunder to scatter doors and gates of prisons. I pray for you, as you read this message and say, Amen, that ‘God shall shatter every evil accusation against your life and every satanic prison yard around your life should be shattered into pieces, in the name of Jesus.
(3) Praise in Battle
Number Three Praise that brings great results is the Praise in Battle. Quite often, the times of battle is not a time that people may want to praise God. Quite often, the times of battles of life is a period when many people murmur and get bitter that God allows battles to come upon them. The truth of our world is that we are in a world of battle. Battles are realities of life. If you see a great life, don’t just ask them about their greatness, let them also tell you about their battles. Whenever you want to do a great thing in life, there are forces that will want to battle with you.
One secret of victory in the battles of life is Praises. In 2 Chronicles 20, three nations conspired together to fight Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah. In 2 Chronicles 20 vs 20, Jehoshaphat appointed singers who began to praise God. When praises started, we read that the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another” Chronicles 20 vs 23).
Are you going through a battle now? Are you facing a confrontation in your place of work or business? Are some people causing you trouble in your marriage? You can defeat them by employing the weapon of praises. Please, praise God, because He is the mighty man in battle (Psalm 24 vs 8). Praise God, because God has the power to give you victory in battle.
When you praise God in the midst of your battle, praises diminish your fear of the enemies. Praises open you to see the power of God and what God can do for you. Praises attract heavenly hosts to fight your battles. Praise brings you supernatural victory
(4) Praises When You Have a Need
Number four Praises that bring great results is Praising God when you have a need. In John 6, Jesus had a need. He had five thousand people that needed to be fed. And all that was available was the lunch pack of a boy made up of five barley loaves and two fishes. But in John 6 vs 11, Jesus took the five barley loaves and He gave thanks. His thanksgiving was a praise-giving. Following the thanks, he asked that the loaves be shared to the five thousand people. There was a miracle of multiplication. All the over five thousand people ate to their full and at the end , they had twelve baskets of loaves left. Praising God in times of need brings multiplications. I may not know your own need now, but I know that you can do what Jesus did.
You can start to give thanks unto God before what you desire appear. You can give thanks unto God for what He has done for you yesterday, it will help to build up faith in you to trust Him for new things today. Psalm 65 vs 5-7 says: “Let the people praise Thee, O God, let all the people praise Thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us”. When you praise God, when you are in need, you provoke supernatural multiplications.
(5) Praises of Love
The fifth Praise that brings great results is the praises of love. This is praising God not because you want to get something from Him or because of what He has done for you or what you want Him to do for you. When you give praises of love, you praise God because you love God. It also means that you praise God because You know He is worthy of your praises. You praise God, for His love for your life; His mighty guidance that you enjoy; His love that delivered you from the attack of your adversaries. Psalm 18 vs 3 says, “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised”. When you praise God because you love Him, God will prove His power in your life. I challenge you to fall in love with God. If you are in love with God, you will want to please Him with your life. If you are in love with God, you will love to spend time alone with Him for a long time and you will enjoy praising Him out of love.
I have shared with you some spiritual secrets of five praises that bring great results. I know that you will want to enjoy great results in whatever you do. We should praise God because he is our Maker and because he sent his Son to die for our sins. He who knew no sin became sin so that we could become the rightness of God. It is because of that Great Exchange, and because of the many other attributes of the Triune God that we are to praise him. I will, therefore, share with you what you need to do to be able to give Praises that bring great divine results.
What Should You Do To Praise God
To praise God, you need the following:
(1) Fall in love with God. Decide to surrender your life to Him and make up your mind to live to please God. For you to be able to love God better, you need to know Him. You can know God by reading His book, called the Bible. Make it a daily habit to commit yourself to meditate and study the Bible. Joshua 1 vs 8 has an important advice for you, when it says: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.
(2) No matter what you are going through in life right now, make up your mind that you will make your heart to praise God all the time. Have a heart that praises God. Praise God with a thankful heart; praise God in the midnight, in the face of the battles of life and when you are in need. Love God and praise God out of a heart of love.
(3) Be a deep thinker and decide to appreciate God for all His goodness over your life. A hymn writer says, “Count your blessings, and name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done”. Don’t murmur or complain that God has not done something for you. Please, be a deep thinker and appreciate God with praises.
(4) Make heaven your goal. Recognize the fact that this world and all that we do in this world are temporary things. Live your life with heaven in focus. Don’t live your life for Satan. Those who live for Satan are destined for hell. Dear reader, there is heaven and there is hell. We are all going to give an account of all that we did here on earth. Let your life count for heaven, by doing well and living a life of love for God and for your fellow man. Avoid the sins that can hinder you from making heaven. Make sure that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and commit yourself to pleasing Him.
