Have you ever wondered: Why does God allow suffering in our lives?
When we talk about why God allows suffering in our lives and how we can cope and do it to overcome it. It is not common to address their origin and causes.
What I mean is where this suffering probably came from, which is its source. For if the fact that we know their origin and possible causes provokes us some action to avoid them, with certainty, it has already been worth this teaching.
With this teaching you will learn that, not always, the causative agent of our sufferings and pains is the enemy of our soul, the devil. Unintentionally here trying to exempt you from any fault. But, remind you that there are other possible factors related to the causes of our suffering and pain.
Of course, in addition to identifying these possible sources, it is important to know how we can respond during these situations. Clearly, we will not cite all the biblical passages and their respective teachings, because in just one article this would be impossible.
For we know that each case is a case, and there are several different approaches and ways of looking at the problem and its solution. Is not true?
However, today we will give a short introduction to the subject in a biblical and summarized manner. But we will talk about the 4 sources of the most likely sufferings and pains, and how we can proceed through each of them, as we learn from God's word.
The Four Sources of Suffering
Source 1 - My Sin
Who is responsible: I
Who is Affected: Myself and Other People
Reaction Needed: Genuine Repentance and Confession to God
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your kindness; blot out my transgressions according to the multitude of your mercies. Wash me completely from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
Psalm 51: 1-3
David's sin with Bathsheba had serious consequences for him in many areas of his life. However, he genuinely repented by confessing his sin to God. We know that God in his rich mercy and kindness spared his life.
The child born after David's adultery with Bathsheba died. The sword was over the house of David. For terrible quarrels and acts of rebellion for his children afflicted him during the days of his reign.
The Four Sources of Suffering
However, David truly repented by attaining the favor and grace of the Most High God, who in turn fulfilled his part in the covenant by establishing David's throne, continuing through his son Solomon.
In 1 John 1: 9 it says: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all evil."
Source 2 - Sins of Others
Who is Responsible: The person and those who allow sin
Who is Affected: Many people, including those who have sinned
Reaction Needed: Resistance to Sin's Behavior and Acceptance of Sinner
Now therefore consider, and see what thou shalt do, for evil is now fully determined against our master and against all his house, and he is a vile man, whom none can speak to him. And he hastened, and took two hundred breads, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep of casseroles, and five measures of toasted wheat, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and two hundred pastes of figs, and set them upon asses. : Go before me, behold, I will follow you closely. But she did not declare it to her husband Nabal. And it came to pass, as she rode on a donkey, that she went down into the cover of the mountain, and, behold, David and his men came to meet her, and she met them.
1 Samuel 25: 17-20
Nabal's sin of ingratitude nearly cost him his life and all his house because he did not respond to David's request. Nabal and his servants prospered greatly in their lands and never suffered any injury from David and his men.
However, the day David needed help from Nabal because of persecution problems in his life. This, in turn, refused to help you.
Abgail, Nabal's wife, upon learning of the fact. He acted wisely in anticipation of David's decision to destroy his home and family. For by bringing the gifts and provisions to David and his men, she was repairing a mistake of her husband. Standing before David, she prostrated herself, begging for mercy for Nabal's folly, which was good in David's eyes.
Today, for example, we have prayer and intercession that is a powerful weapon given to us by God. Through it, situations and circumstances can be changed. Be sure to cry out and intercede for the one whom you would like to see delivered and redeemed in the presence of the Lord.
Source 3 - Avoidable physical (or natural) disaster
Who's Responsible: People who ignore the facts or refuse to take precautions
Who's Affected: Most People Exposed
Reaction Required: Avoid disaster if possible; if you can't be prepared
And he did not forgive the ancient world, but kept Noah, the eighth person, the preacher of righteousness, by bringing the flood upon the world of the wicked;
2 Peter 2: 5
In Gen 6 we see why God brought destruction upon the human race. However, Noah found it thanks to the eyes of the Lord. That is when the Lord commands you to build an Ark according to your specifications.
After obeying the voice of the Lord during the building of the great ark, Noah preached to his people the coming events from God. The bible does not mention it, but it may have been crushed and even harassed by many.
However, the day of the Lord came to bring the flood. Then God tells Noah and his family to enter the Ark and also the animals to which the Lord had sent to Noah. Finally, flood came and killed all those outside the Ark.
The fact that something is taking so long does not mean it will not happen. For everything God has spoken through His Word has been fulfilled and others are happening every day. Christ's return is imminent, that is, we must be prepared, for it can occur at any moment.
Source 4 - Unable to Avoid Physical (or Natural) Disaster

Who is Affected: Many People
Reaction Needed: Constant Confidence in God's Faithfulness
In all this Job did not sin, nor blame God.
Job 1:22
The Bible mentions that Job was a righteous and God-fearing man. However, God allowed Satan to grieve his servant. Job's sons died, all their wealth was lost. Even his health was touched by the devil. But Job did not blame God.
The evil in Job's life was so painful that his wife went so far as to ask him to curse his God and die. But even so, Job stood firm and confident in God. Even after lamenting being born, for not understanding the cause of so much suffering. He continued to persevere and believe in the living God.
The result of his faithfulness to God was just astonishing. For the Lord gave back to him twice as much all his possessions as he had lost. Not only the children, because the children are not considered goods, but the inheritance of the Lord. He had seven more sons and three daughters totaling 10 sons, plus the 10 sons who were in eternity, we have the twenty sons.
If situations of suffering and pain have arisen in your life and, you are a word-obedient and God-fearing person. Do not try to understand why, but remain confident in God. That there is no impossible cause for Him. By acting He will prevent it. Know that nothing happens by chance, because everything has a purpose. God is in control of all things.
Remember if! God is greater than our problems or sufferings. Therefore, believe and trust only in Him and receive your victory in the name of Jesus. Amen!
