Today we will exercise our salvation, and find new and exciting ways to join with the trinity .
Philippians 2:12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
We need to use our salvation a more than just for the day of our physical death , because if you are a believer you do know that you will never die .
But working out your salvation means so much more than people think .
You see so many people want to be justified what many call saved from hell , but where many people come up short is sanctification .
Sanctification means to be cleansed from worldliness , many of our more popular evangelist seem to be avoiding , and if you avoid shedding this world , it that means you have never been Justified , and then your right back to where you started unsaved.
You will know if you have been saved , when in your prayer life in your request from God it includes freedom from this world and a perfect union with Him.
We are in John 14 and you all know this passage pretty well , in my fathers house there are many mansions , if it were not so I would have told you , I go to prepare a place for you . But how do you secure your room in our fathers house ? Jesus tells us that part down the page
John 14:12“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14“If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
Are you claiming your greater works?
Have you ever even considered that you have the God given ability to over achieve and do greater works than Christ Himself ,
When your motives are intended to bring God glory, and honor our Savior there is nothing that the forces of this world can prevent
When there is less and less of you in your goals and intentions and more and more Kingdom then you will see miracles happen
John 14:15“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
This one is real easy because it is so plain .
I have a son, and I love my son, and any father worth his salt knows what I am talking about .
Now when I tell him to do something his obedience proves our relationship is on a higher level of communication,
And when you think of communication you usually think of words and talking back and forth
But what is odd is this type of communication doesn’t use words it uses a joined Spirit, an understanding that even words can’t describe.
Its like when we work in the food pantry we abide by a list of rules , what is expected, and what is allowed, and what is against the rules .
Vivian knows what is allowed and what isn’t and she operates that sign in table and helps people according to the rules like supervisor .
But just ask where is this list of rules , go find me this list do’s and the don’ts .
You can’t , you won’t find a physical list because they aren’t written on paper, they have become an understanding
We operate by a KINDRED SPIRIT and without speaking a word , or making any petition we allhave the same understanding .
That is how it works with the Kingdom of God , He doesn’t have to speak to us , there is a list of do’s and don’ts, and you all know and have an understanding what is expected .
John 14:16“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
Each one of you , if you are born again has an uncaning ability to know the truth when you hear it, and to know it when its not exactly the truth.
Because this Spirit isn’t just something you know about , it is something that dwells deep inside of you and connects you to the Father through Christ
You know when something is wrong, not when you think it but when you feel it.
Think about it this way , You all know more now than you did a year ago and you know I telling the truth , because you can feel it .
Because now when something seems suspect, and you examine it.
There are times when people will come up and give us some excuse ,some story or song and dance and we just look at each other , don’t speak a word and the Spirit tells well may be this isn’t exactly accurate .
Because You see now you are measuring things up against the Spirit of Truth
And now you have begun leaning heavily on the Holy Spirit and this is my suggestion to you lean on Him and lean on him hard.
When someone comes to me and ask my for advise or help that’s exactly what I do , go right to the Spirit of Truth , what is the true way , the right way the right answer .
And this can be hard because a lot of the time it conflicts with what we think is right and what we want .
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death
Have you ever been in a maze or seen people in one of those corn mazes
Some of them are even timed
You begin at the start and have to navigate your way over to the finish before the time expires
And as you try to navigate through. there are ways that seemed right that only lead you down a dead end a trap .
People waste an awful amount of time going down paths in life that are nothing but dead ends
And just like theses mazes life is timed and the last thing we need is to make the wrong decision , take the wrong path and waste our valuable time on dead ends .
So how do you get through this maze of life, you need a guide.
Someone who is going to show you the right paths and help avoiding all these dead ends .
John 14: 18“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19“After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20“In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24“He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
What a scary thought to navigate through this world on your own, nope I can’t do it .
John 14: 23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him
I might not be a genius, but I do know this when people try to navigate on their own through life without the Holy Spirit , you are the ones who become the lost , the orphaned
When people say they found Christ? , Come on , you were down some dark path and didn’t know which way to turn going nowhere and He came and found you
Or how about this I found my way , oh you found your way , there hasn’t been a soul on this planet minus His that has ever found his own way
John 14:25“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. 26“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Just call Him what He is the Spirit of God , and you cant separate the Spirit of God from God and you cant separate the Father from the Son so It is through this union with the Spirit that teaches you all things , shows you all things and guides you through all things.
And this is why people are so frustrated and crazy because there is no Spirit and without it there is no peace
27“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. 28“You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29“Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; 31but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
It really is time to get up and go and leave all the affections of this world behind . trust me there is nothing worth in this world separating you from Christ
