People are always saying, “I have to do this,” or “ I have to do that.” Then there are those that say, “I don't have to do anything but die!” However, I find there are at least 3 things that Jesus teaches us that every Born Again, Blood Bought, Ransomed, Redeemed, Sanctified, Spirit Filled, Overcoming Child of God “MUST DO.”

The first one we find in the gospel of Luke 2.
Jesus is 12 years old. Joseph & Mary go to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast. They do what is required of them to do then they set out to head back home with a caravan. However, unknown to them, Jesus stayed behind. They traveled for a whole day then think, “Where's Jesus?” They looked for him all over the caravan, but to no avail. “He must still be in Jerusalem” so they go back. 3 days later, they find him.
Luke 2:49
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? (KJV)
I) I Must Be About My Father's Business.
It's so easy to say, “I've got to do this or that.” I have to see Perry Stone. I have to see Steven Furtick. I need to go to that Benny Hinn crusade. I've just got to watch that DVD of Bro. Darren preaching.
God Help Us!!!
What should be rolling off our tongues & out of our mouths is, “I Must Be About My Father's Business!”
What is my Father's business?
Visiting the sick, the widow, & the orphan
Ministering to the backslider
Giving Living Water to a thirsty soul
Binding up the brokenhearted
Setting captives free
Healing the sick
Raising the dead
That's just to name a few!
I MUST!!!
(Remember, it's not my business, but my Father's)
II) I Must Preach The Kingdom Of God
Luke 4:43
43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. (KJV)
There was something in him that he had to preach the Kingdom Of God.
1 Cor 9:15-18
15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. (KJV)
Paul said, “Necessity is laid on me...”
I MUST PREACH THE GOSPEL!!!
Notice, there is a reward that comes with preaching the Gospel. (Vs. 18)
In other words, the joy of seeing sinners set free by the power of the Gospel Of Christ & God getting all the glory!!!
Jer 20:9
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. (KJV)
Here me Church! We can try all we want to hold it in, but we will soon find that we can't!!! WHY???
Necessity is laid upon me!
I MUST PREACH THE GOSPEL!!!
2 Cor 4:3
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (KJV)
Matt 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
I MUST PREACH THE GOSPEL!!!
III) I Must Work His Works!
John 9:4
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. (KJV)
John 5:19
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (KJV)
I Must do the things I have seen Jesus do!
It's not I ought to!
It's not I could!
It's not I should!
It's not I might!
It's I MUST!
We haven't got much time, Church. The day is far spent.
Jesus is telling the Church what He told Judas, “What you do, do it quickly.”
