“There is therefore now no condemnation to them, which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
(Romans 8:1)
There is NO condemnation. Consider and wrestle with these implications. What this means…
You are not being condemned by God the Father for your past sins, they are forgiven and forgotten.
You are not under accusation by God when people accuse you. However, it is and must be stated that God does bring people into our lives to warn and exhort us to live holy lives. As such, living in sin openly / secretly does does not mean God will not bring about discipline which is for our good.
That being said, Jesus still died in our place for our shortcoming.
Condemnation is: strong disapproval, openly judged, to be found guilty, to be judged. Wrestle with this: Jesus became sin for us and was condemned to die! He was found with disapproval, he was openly judged and beaten for his “crimes”, he was ultimately found guilty. He came to take our sin away, to remove the condemnation that we were facing. That is love. There is no greater love we will find.
