Summary: Even though us parents don’t have all the answers it’s good for us to see God as our Father Why is it so important to see God as our father? What is the correlation between our Earthly father and our Heavenly Father? Here are some qualities that are important in fatherhood

John 1:12-But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

13-who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.(NKJV)

John 1:12-But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

13-They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.(NLT)

John 1:12-But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name -- "

(Amplified)

Promise Keepers-A man went to promise keepers and really got convicted of how bad a husband and father he had been, and promised God that he was going to change, so on the way home he bought some roses for his wife and when he walked into the house and showed the flowers and told her about his change of heart. The wife said, “Little Jimmy got in trouble at school, the washing machine broke and now you come home drunk!”

Father-One who works to provide for his children and who wants what is best for his Children.

Limitations-Children love to talk about how strong and wise their fathers are.

My daddy can beat up your daddy!

You ain‘t never had a whipping until my gives you one.

But we soon learn that our dads do have limitations!

There are certain things they can‘t do, even though they love us,

and certain things they won‘t do even when we ask because they love us.

There are things our Heavenly Father cannot do because He has chosen

to populate heaven with free-choice human beings.

There are somethings that God will not do because it's not good for you!-Has your parent ever turned you down because it was not good for you, have you ever turned your child down because what they asked for was not good for them?

Father pushing a stroller and the baby starts crying

The father said, "It will be alright George, Don‘t cry George! George, It’s going to be ok!”

A lady about that time walks up and bends down to the baby in the stroller and begins to talk to the baby, She said, “It will be ok George!”

The dad speaks up and says, “He isn‘t George, I'm George!”

Even though us parents don’t have all the answers it’s good for us to see God as our Father

Why is it so important to see God as our father?

What is the correlation between our Earthly father and our Heavenly Father?

Here are some qualities that are important in fatherhood

A FATHER

One who's wisdom we can rely on.

ADVICE (God’s word to guide us!)

One who can help us with the problems of life.

I’ve had a great attitude today, I haven’t lost my tempter to today, I haven’t thought any bad thoughts today but LORD,I'M GETTING OUT OF BED NOW AND I’M SURE GOING TO NEED YOUR HELP!

One who will be strong, when we are weak.

Psalm 46:1-God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble

JUMP AND I WILL CATCH YOU!

One who is willing to give of himself.

The father who throws his four year old out of the way of a speeding car and dies at the scene.

The father who fights off a dog after it attacked his daughter, and he dies at the scene.

One who has time for us!

Not like the dad who said, “I'll be glad when the kids get grown so I'll have time to be a good parent!” We all understand that being busy trying to make a living!

The father who was a pastor had retreated to his study with the clear instructions to family members: “Do not disturb.” A toddler who was hungry for some attention pounded on the door and announced, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, let me in.”

We don’t have to do that with God, He always have time for us, the question is do we have time for Him?

1 John 3:1-Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

2-Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

How does your heavenly Father look to you today?

How do you look to your Heavenly Father?
