There is a great truth that we are to confront in life, things that we would like to ignore and things we would like to forget but we just cannot. Mishaps, mistakes, bad decisions, maybe areas of hatred, anger, resentment, un-forgiveness, maybe there might be areas of fear, anxiety, worry, doubt or unbelief, whether we recognize these areas or not as clutter they are. Yes we will have moments of mistakes and maybe decisions that were not favorable to us in our lives but your past failures do not and will not or cannot determine who you are called to be in Christ Jesus.
“This is the definition of clutter: things that exist in your outer life to distract you from the inner things that you're avoiding. If you avoid something, it grows.... The great thing is, the reverse is also true: when you honestly look at something, it shrinks. When you see the situation for what it is, bypassing the emotional layers that colored it and made it into a clutter monster, it becomes simple. That's how peaceful clutter busting is. You're honestly looking at each layer of distraction, questioning the thing, letting it go, and realizing what's underneath.
Beloved God is the author of good things, God is the creator of things that are good, when He created the Earth and all within He looked at it and said it is good. When He created you He said it is good, and now the good has now made some decisions that have caused a great distraction and has clouded our view on the promises of God. Cloudiness and blurred vision has become a reality and has been a great discouragement to the very human existence, but God’s word is true and His word tells us that when He starts something He is faithful to finish it till the end.
Philippians 1:6
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
We want God to calm the storms in our lives, well sometimes God wants to calm the child within the storm, beloved be still and know that He is God.
1st Point “Your beginning”
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
So here we are beginning life, we are brought into this world with wonderful things in mind, and we begin to grow, we begin to realize that we have youth, we have energy, ideas, great ideas and we are told we can conquer whatever we put our minds to, and so that’s what we do, we begin to plan out our lives.
As young people we have dreams and aspirations, we have plans and want to achieve the greatest things that no one has ever come close to, some have desires to be what no one else in their family has ever been or has ever done, some have desired to be doctors, lawyers, famous, above the rest, graduating college with a masters in physics, we have dreams our vision is clear all along for the most part not really knowing God, just knowing about God.
And so we go on with life with these plans at hand but somewhere along the way something happens. We are introduced to things that begin to alter our thoughts, things that begin to taint our minds and now the dreams and aspirations we once had are no longer the goal, no longer the desire, but now those things that have begun to satisfy the flesh, boyfriends and girlfriends are now the focus, Insta-scam, and Facebook and immoral living has now taken over the innocence of a young person who once had no desire for the things that have now gripped their hearts. Sin has now grabbed their very soul and they are not aware of the culprit all they know is that this is what makes me feel good.
Sin was never in sight, this wasn’t the plan, I was never told that these things could damage my life, and so you ignore the signs and therefore you started your life in this arena and this is what I would like to continue doing, God loves me no matter what, Right? He won’t send me to hell, that’s not the God I have heard of before, right? Fools in the making, this is a reality even today. People both young and old are either making decisions that will destroy their future or there are some that are living out their decisions and wish they would have been taught and told right from the beginning. The Bible tells us that fools don’t want to understand truth they just want to be heard.
Now there are many things that are cluttering their vision, their hope, their hearts and minds. We see today many prodigals that have not came to themselves, they are missing the very promises of God for their lives. Full of regret and uncertainty, full of sorrows and hope has left them, some are living with shame and guilt that have driven them far from the grace and love of God, the cry of many today, “If I just would’ve done things right from the beginning”.
If we are honest life is like a brand new computer, everything goes well until you open a tab or an app or a webpage and try to download something you are not familiar with only to open the door to a virus that now is eating away at the internal drive of your brand new computer and slowly destroying it. See beloved this is you and me this today, we started life new with great hopes in mind but maybe you opened the door somewhere and allowed sin to slowly eat away at you and now what once was considered to be hopeful and promising is now eating away at your mind and heart and is filling your life with destructive things. Sin is only pleasurable for a season then judgement. With this truth beloved, You can’t see the redemption of God:
Proverbs 14:12
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
We think of the prodigal how long was he in the field with the pigs before he would come to the remembrance of the goodness of his father?
Beloved somewhere along this life we are going to have to declutter. We need to have the vision of the goodness of God restored.
2nd Point “Letting everything that we do not need go”
“Keeping baggage from the past will leave no room for the happiness in the future”. And so we are going to have to declutter this hard drive we call the mind. Beloved there is a truth that once you hear or see something you cannot un-hear or un-see it. But with God’s help all things are possible.
A few moments ago we were just faced with this reality of truth that maybe just maybe you might be holding on to some things that have been keeping you from your destiny. “Get rid of clutter and you may just find that it was blocking the door your’ve been looking for”. There are people that are so depressed because of things that they have allowed to consume them, guilt and condemnation have overshadowed the life of the child of God and now bad decisions have now become your identity. Your past does define you child of God. Beloved you need to declutter, let go of the things that seem to have a hold of you. God has great plans for you.
Jeremiah 29:11-12
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” –Psalm 34:17
The cries of God’s children are heard, He’s a good God, a Holy God, a good Father, a Holy Father and wants the best for His children. But in order for you to know that, you are going to have to declutter, maybe your life is full of regret, maybe full of fears and worries that in all truth should not be your worries, God says this:
1 Peter 5:7
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Clean out and clear out the areas of your life that might be keeping you from experiencing the the very power of God. See beloved is fear, haterd, anger, anxiety and unbelief, rejection, etc, are the things that fill your life and if these thing are filling your life where is there room for God and His promises and truth for your future?
You are going to have to ask God to help you remove those things from your life, these are like mountains that are too high and big for you to see the finish line. These are like the Goliaths that are screaming and yelling at you, reminding you of your failures and mishaps yet God says He uses the weak things of the world to bring to shame those things that are mighty.
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
Beloved you must realize that the enemy of your soul wants to strip you of the purpose and destiny and all the promises that God He Himself has for you through His only beloved and begotten son Jesus Christ.
See church the devil is a liar and the father of it, not to mention the father of trickery, he is a liar and very good at it, in addition he is a thief, he is a robber and wants to rob you of your joy of your peace of your purpose in Christ. God is here to restore you back to your purpose.
John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
3rd Point “Healing in the name of Jesus Christ”
THE MOST MISERABLE PRISON IN THE WORLD IS THE PRISON WE MAKE FOR OURSELVES WHEN WE REFUSE TO SHOW MERCY. OUR THOUGHTS BECOME SHACKLED, OUR EMOTIONS ARE CHAINED, THE WILL IS ALMOST PARALYZED. BUT WHEN WE SHOW MERCY, ALL OF THESE BONDS ARE BROKEN, AND WE ENTER INTO A JOYFUL LIBERTY THAT FREES US TO SHARE GOD’S LOVE WITH OTHERS.
God is about newness, starting fresh in His mercy and grace, a new beginning, but “You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterdays junk”. And so you are going to have to let it go. See beloved no more excuses, let go and allow God to move for you, in you and through you.
Christ is the Good Physician. There is no disease He cannot heal; no sin He cannot remove; no trouble He cannot help. He is the Great Physician who has never failed to heal all the spiritual afflictions of every soul that has come to Him in faith and prayer.
When we look at the healing process of the power of God we cannot for one moment ignore the very power of the cross. The cross of Jesus Christ is a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice made for you and I to obtain the greatest healing of all by His blood.
Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
The ultimate disease we all face is called sin, it is the virus in the computer that has not been cleared therefore continues to eat away till it devours everything in its path and this is what it tends to do to many, but the washing of the mind the cleansing of the souls comes by the very promises of the truth of God, that the very blood of Jesus Christ has the power to restore and renew and revive us all this very moment.
1 John 1:7
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Revelation 1:5
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
The very blood of Jesus Christ can wash us clean from our sin, cleanse our minds and help us to declutter the heart and mind, when we repent, begin to remove what we don’t need and realize the things we have been holding on to for so long. To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.
