Summary: We need to study God's word more.

We need to search the scriptures

Acts 17: 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Believers’ at Berea were more noble than at Thessalonica they were not mind set on God.

1. Search systematically.

2nd Timothy 2: 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Don’t be like a grasshopper hop skip and jump through the Bible.

2. Earnestly.

Psalm 119: 18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Study with the power of God’s guidance.

Study with the Holy Spirit help.

Remember the word is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

John 16: 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

3. Anxiously.

Psalm 119: 26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.

27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

Have a purpose in your study.

Equipping your self to fight Satan.

So we can help others.

4. Regularly.

Psalm 1: 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

We need physical nourishment regular.

We need the fruit from God more regular for our meditation.

5. Carefully.

2nd Timothy 3: 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Good works show what we study.

Study shows the correction we need.

6.Humbly.

Psalm 51: 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

God gives treasures to stubborn hearts.

He reveals his wonders to humbly people.

He feeds good gifts to seekers.
