1 Corinthians 15:45-49 says, the first man Adam came from dust, and therefore, every human being that was born on this earth was born in the image of dust. However, the last Adam, who is Jesus Christ was different from the first, the Bible says he came from heaven. The fist Adam was banished from the presence of God, he lost his place in heaven. This man had fallen from glory, and his spirit was corrupted by Satan. So every human being is born with a fallen and a corrupted spirit, which is separated from the presence of God. Man is born corrupted, the reason he does what he does is because of what is in him. Jesus said; A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. (Matthew 12:35). No man can turn from being bad to being good by himself, the evil works in his life are an outworking of the nature of his spirit or the seed in him.
The only way a man can change is by receiving the new nature which came through the last Adam. Jesus speaking Nicodemus said; “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again” (John 3:6-7). To be born again does not mean you changed your old ways, rather it means when Christ was crucified, your spirit man was crucified with him, when he was buried, you were buried with him, and when he was raised from the dead, you were also raised up together with him as a new man. The man which was born in the image of the first Adam died at Calvary, and the new man (heavenly man) which was born after the image of the last Adam (Jesus Christ) has now replaced the old man. Your spirit man is born anew; you are a brand new man. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says; if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. So when you confess the Lordship of Jesus over your life, your spirit man died, and a new one was recreated. And because of this, it become easier to do good things because the root course of evil has been cut off from you. This is why Jesus Christ is the only way to God, there is no other way, only Jesus.
