GOD WORKS IN STRANGE WAYS (EPH3:3-6)
ILLUS: SOLDIER/SPIDER
The young soldier was under a lot of stress, he had been separated from his outfit for hours. One moment he was next to his comrades , then the shooting started and everyone scattered, now he was all alone on this jungle infested island. He could hear the enemy pursuing him, He felt doomed and was filled with fear and uneasiness . He began to climb up a ridge looking for shelter, he began to pray “GOD please help me”. He saw a cave and quickly jumped in. The cave was very small and offered little shelter. He could hear the enemy soldiers getting closer, He again prayed “ LORD please send me help. After praying he opened his eyes fully expecting two mighty angels to appear, but to his disappointment , all he saw was a spider weaving a web across the cave opening. He began to question God “ why didn’t you help me” ,all of a sudden the enemy appeared at the cave entrance, saw the spider web and said “no one has been here for the spider web is undisturbed. The enemy moved on and the soldier was spared because GOD sent a spider to weave a web. GOD works in strange and mysterious ways.
TEXT: EPH 3:3-6
3 In fact, this letter tells you a little about how God has shown me his mysterious ways. 4 As you read the letter, you will also find out how well I really do understand the mystery about Christ. 5 No one knew about this mystery until God’s Spirit told it to his holy apostles and prophets. 6 And the mystery is this: Because of Christ Jesus, the good news has given the Gentiles a share in the promises that God gave to the Jews. God has also let the Gentiles be part of the same body.
