In Romans 8:37, Paul coined a new terminology, saying “More than Conquers”, if you studied the 35th verse of Romans 8, you will understand why he expressed his communication with that terminology. It says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword.” When he wrote “more than conquers”, he had a picture of a man who was surrounded by hardships, troubles, persecutions, famine, nakedness, danger, sword. These words (more than conqueror) meant that, the man would prevail regardless of the size and number of his adversaries. In other words, “They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven” (Deuteronomy 28:7).
Simply put, “more than conquers” means we are passed conquering, it means we won the battle before it got started. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. So when Satan comes against anyone of us, he is already too late because we have already won the battle through Christ. No wander John wrote, “I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one” (1 John 2:14). Satan may come looking strong and tough, but don’t let him fool you, he knows that you have already won, he is just trying to use fear to get you to surrender. Never surrender to that fool, he is fighting a losing battle. Isaiah 5:19 says, When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Darkness has no chance against light, evil can never overcome good, nor can Satan overcome anyone that belongs to Jesus.
