THE BATTLE IS GOD'S
2 CHRONICLES 20:15
He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
Sometimes the things that worry us are those things that only God can do, when you begin to think of how you will do those things that you don't have the ability to do, you go on worrying and living in fear. When you remove your mind and eyes from the problems and look to God, you will have the faith over them. Our ability to see God before looking at the problem is the guarantee of our victory and testimonies.
Jehoshaphat was told to conquer fear and God will conquer his enemies. As we can see that fear was more powerful than the great multitudes before them. Until we conquer fear, God may not act. The battle is not yours but God's. Only if we can truly believe that With God all things are possible.
The victory that we are expecting is in our hands, the healing, miracles and great favor are in our hands. Conquer the fear and leave the rest to God. The year might be rounding up but it's not yet over, God can still do it. Infact, God is working out the breakthrough for you already. Alleluia!
Great testimony require steadfast and immovable faith, God allows the trial of our faith to qualify us for those miracles and breakthroughs. Jehoshaphat's faith was put to test. Know that, God didn't wipe away his enemies immediately rather he told them to prepare a group of holy song ministers and still come to the battle. Many of us would pray that we will go to battle and let our enemies die immediately but God chooses the pattern of warfare to use. If the battle is not ours but God's, then it must be God's way.
God also wanted to know their level of confidence in him. He told them to be still and see the salvation of the Lord. When God wants us to be still, entertaining worries can be a distraction or hindrance to God. Being still doesn't cancel tempest and troubles but it is the mind of a winning Christian that anchors in Christ for his living. It's trusting and living with this scripture, "Psalm 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you."
There is awesome power in Praising God, it cannot be overemphasized. Praise to God destroys the weapons of warfare and gives victory. In this battle, the Lord needed only holy choristers whose weapons are in their hearts and tongues. They sang to the Lord without wavering and trembling but believed in the victory that God promised.
2 Chronicles 20:20 "Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”
What do you believe in and what are you saying to God about it? In the face of challenging and confusing moments, remember that the foolishness of God is great wisdom. Take God's instructions very serious. Who would believe that choristers can defeat experienced and highly equipped armies? But the things of the Lord are mysterious.
