The Life of Prayer
One thing we know about Jesus and prayer is that He made prayer a priority. The Bible reveals how Jesus would sacrifice sleep or rest to spend time with the Father. He would pray before the sun came up; He would pray all night, even after ministering to people all day. That is a powerful prayer life! And, He didn’t do this as the Son of God on the earth—He did so as the Son of Man anointed by the Holy Ghost. Luke 18:1 says,......."men ought always to pray, and not to faint".
Look at it this way, Jesus came from heaven, he was the Word of God made flesh, he was the full embodiment of wisdom and truth, yet the success of his life and ministry depended so much on prayer. Why was it is so, why would the one who knew everything depend on pray? The answer to this question is found in John 5:19 which says, "......The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." The Father referred to in this verse is the Holy Ghost, We must remember that he was a child of the Holy Ghost because he was conceived by the Holy Ghost. Whatever work he did, whatever wisdom he had, came by the Holy Ghost. In other words, he did what the Spirit of God said to do, he did what he saw his Father do, Hallelujah.....! Whatever God will do in our lives will be through the Holy Ghost, there is nothing he can do except through the Holy Ghost. When we pray, we make it possible for the Holy Ghost to work in our lives according to God's perfect will four our lives. Romans 8:26-27, says Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Prayer enables God the Father to do what he wants to so in us through his Spirit.
