You must lose your mind
Philippians 2:5 2Timothy 1:7 & Romans 12:2
There is an old saying, and ancient proverb, that all of us have heard people say. Like father, like son. That is an indication that people pattern people. Paul is saying to the church at Philippi that they are to be a reproduction, or a replica of Christ. That is, we are to be like Christ, mind the same things, have the same values, and have the same appearance as Christ. We are looking for identical identity, as a principle for Christian living. In Him we live, move, and have our being.
Spiritual imaging everyday is what we are striving for. Our mind involves several areas, our thoughts, information that the mind retains, and our ability to think. We all know that people like to play games with our mind. In a sense, the greatest battlefield in the world is located between our ears. There is a battle for our mind, there is a high cost in listening to satan, and know this that listening to the Lord is priceless.
When Jesus was tested and tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Jesus was able to be victorious because he had meditated upon and thought about the scriptures so much that he could think straight and not be deceived. Man should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God. Christ spoke out against His enemy, without any spirit of fear. Christ demonstrated a sound mind. He demonstrated that He had a spirit of power, a spirit of love and a spirit of a sound mind, and that same mind is offered to every believer.
As you begin to reclaim your mind and thought life from the enemy, there is a battle over your mind for your stuff, satan doesn’t want us to have victorious living. His mission is to have a stronghold on our lives. Know that he won't easily give up or let go of that stronghold, but the word says we have power and authority over the enemy. You will have to fight spiritually to stand your ground for a clear mind, satan's mission is to bring about confusion, and to cast a shadw over your blessings. Remember you have been given a sound mind. You must declare out loud that you will not allow any outside force to do your thinking man or spirit. We are to meditate upon the word of God to ovever the presence of evil.
If there be any forces of evil, we can command them to leave. Your power and authority come from the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, and the Word of God. Ask God to give you discernment about the lies of the devil to sift us like wheat.
1 Corinthians 1:15 says but he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he hiself is judged of no man. As you recognize a thought that is not true we are called to speak out about it and defend yourself out loud to defuse the enemy. This means speaking to Satan and the evil forces out loud, binding them in the name of Jesus, and forbidding them to speak ungodly things to you and use your mind as their playground. When you start repeating anything that is not true, you are being used by satan, or engage in activities that are uncoming of a christian.
We can have the same mind that Christ Jesus had, which means we are all capable of thinking Christ's thoughts. The text here informed us of the need to imitate Christ through a life styles that speaks of His everyday presence with us, and our ability to live in Him, make wisdom decision.and effective christian living everyday. The unbeliever that refuses to conform and be transformed to the will of God will suffer tremendous loss, there must be a renewing of the mind daily for clean clear thinking. You would be surprised how fast one’s mind can fill up with stuff and have you all puffed up. Satan's mission is to keep our mind on overload often causing us to default on our mission and purpose in the Lord..
Transforming our minds toward the mind of Christ comes through scriptures memory, that will keep riseing up as a defence machanism through out one's life. What did David say, thy word have I hide in my heart that I may not sin against God. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, now thata's a good defence system that will stand the test.It is impossible for theunbeliever think like Christ. The natural man thinks according to a man. That is why he or she doesn't like the christian life style, nor those who proclaim the gospel, church life is not just for them. The need the mind of Christ. They are just not capable of thinking like Christ until they have been born again. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ. It is adaptable, and everyone has access to it To have the mind of Christ we must also have a mind of sacrifice, discipline, obedience to the will of God and humility.
We must work at being Christ minded. Whatsoever things, Philippians 4:8. When you are saved, God gives you His life, His mind and His word. You have been granted the life of God through His Son, we begin to think like God. You will fall in love with the Bible, prayer, the house of God, the people of God, and the things of God when you are changed and regenerated through His word. Takeover, Paul said the life that I know live. You must lose your mind to gain the mind of Christ.
People will still see our short comings and failures in all of us who are Christians in the church and around our life styles. We are a work in progress, working toward perfection. We won't be prefect till we "see him as he is." bible says we will be like Him. In Him let us be all that we can be, love like Him, bless like Him and serve like Him. To live in the power of His resurrection.
We have to constantly keep watch on those ear and eye gates because they are entry places into our minds. There are things that apture our mind such as what we read, watch, and listen to shapes our mind and we become victims of what we are allowing to happen to us.
It pays to stay in the word of God. The more God occupies our thoughts, the more preoccupied we are with the mind of Christ, the more the Spirit of the Lord will shape our thoughts, feelings, emotions, relationships, becoming like Him in all things, the imageing of God. The question today. What do people see when they see us as Christians? Do they see Christ? II Corinthians 4:11, "That the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh." God's plan is that Christ may be manifested in our mortal bodies, but He can't do that if we don't think like Him.
We can't think nor be like Him unless we have His mind. If we have His mind, we must let Him do the thinking. In all things Lord what would you have me to say or do. Now prayer is noy just about asking it is also about listening. , The one true voice like at&t can you hear me know. Is that Jesus speaking, we need His mind to servive. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Now that is an exchanged mind and total surrender to the will of God. That's losing your mind to gain the mind of Christ.
So, we must die if Christ is going to live in us. That is what He means when Jesus says, "He that loses his life for my sake shall find it" (Matthew 10:39). Are you willing to lose your mind to receive Christ mind? Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
