God's Solution for Stress
If ever we lived in time of STRESS it is now. Never has there been so much anger, fighting, fears and even suicides as it is today. Even Christians are finding it so stressful. In this life that even provides things that we older ones never dreamed was possible, let alone having these ‘things’ a few years ago. Sometimes we forget the simplicity of the answers God gives us in His Word.
Here is a short simple sermon in 3 points.
1. Pray right... Consider and ponder the ‘The Lord’s Prayer.’ It is so simple, yet it begins with OUR FATHER. He cares for you. He wants a personal relationship with you. To give you peace, joy etc. Galatians 5:22 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
A. Safety consists not in the absence of danger but in the presence of God.
2. Think right. 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
A. We do this by being filled with His Spirit and His Word.
3. Live right. Philippians 4:6-9 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
A. Let me close with this, let us, take up our cross daily and follow him. We will find that following Him that we will find rest and peace.
B. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Peace that Jesus gives is not the absence of trouble, but is rather the confidence that He is there with you always.
