Summary: Jesus has blessed us with His peace and we are to receive His peace by faith.

Jesus loves us so much that He through His death and resurrection has given us his peace. He himself is peace, he has put his peace in us. He is our Salvation that came to save us from the troubles of this world. In this world, there is so much going on but as we fix our eyes on Jesus his peace that is in will help us to be overcomers.

Jesus said in John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Another translation writes it this way

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

When Jesus was going back to his father he gave us all a gift - the gift of his own peace. It's a gift that the LORD Himself gave us and we are to treasure his gift by believing and receiving his gift of peace.

By faith we have his gift of peace in our lives.

We see that Jesus said he gave us his own peace, not our own peace because our own man made peace will not last long. But he gave us his peace that is eternal and everlasting.

With all that is happening or going to happen we have his own peace in us. The peace that is from above and not of this world. So we do not need to be troubled or afraid.

Everywhere Jesus went, he would say to people and to us. DO NOT BE AFRAID OR DO NOT FEAR!

This were the words of Jesus who is called The Prince Of Peace - Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus is our Peace

He is our Peace in the midst of that sickness, pain, disease , heartache, stress and poverty .

Whatever we might be going through let us proclaim that Jesus is our Peace. We say it and believe that He is our Peace.

An example of Jesus' peace is in Matthew 14:22-33

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshipped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.

Peter was walking towards Jesus when he looked at the wind that was raging and he became afraid but Jesus who is called the Prince Of Peace stretched out his hand to Peter and caught him, saying to him that he should not be afraid.

Therefore, when the storm of life is raging we are to focus on Jesus and trust in him to help us in our time of need.

Jesus said to us in John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus is saying here that yes we would experience tribulation but he also said that we should be of good cheer for he on our behalf has overcome the world.

We have victory in his peace, because He is the Prince Of Peace.

He the peace giver also said to us that he has given to us peace of mind and heart. And where there is fear he gave us his peace.

When we look around us and with what we are hearing all over the world we have his peace that surpasses all understanding.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Another translation puts it this way:

Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.

Jesus is saying that his peace will guard ( keep ) our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jesus is our Peace.

Scriptures on Peace

Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

Psalms 119:165

Great peace have those who love Your law,

And nothing causes them to stumble.

Proverbs 16:7

When a man’s ways please the Lord,

He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

In Isaiah 54:10 the LORD said this to us

Though the mountains be shaken

and the hills be removed,

yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken

nor my covenant of peace be removed,

says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

He is saying that no matter what is going on his love will not cease and his covenant of peace will never be removed! What a promise from the Prince Of Peace himself!

So, if you are weary and burdened, let us go to him for his rest and peace which he said to us in Matthew 11:28-30

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

In Romans 14:17-19 Paul said this

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

God's Kingdom is about peace let us by faith accept his gift of peace and live in peace with all men.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:16 the Holy Spirit through Paul said this prayer

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. This is my prayer for us all in Jesus name.

Also in Romans 15:13 it says:

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God wants to fill us all with joy and peace as we trust in Him. And when we trust in him we can be full of his hope with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the Lord Of Peace

Jesus is the Prince Of Peace

There is another promise of his peace in Jeremiah 33:6

Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

God Himself will reveal to us the abundance of peace in our lives because of his wonderful love for us all which he showed us through the death of His Son Jesus. Because of his love we can live in peace with everything that the enemy throws at us, remain in his peace and things will turn around for our good.

The Prince Of Peace is at work in our lives.
