Topic: THE WORK OF THE COMFORTER
John 16:5-11 King James Version (KJV)
5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
Beloved, Precious Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus to us that we may know and understand the way and the truth and also be guided.
Precious Holy Spirit came to do three basic things which when you accept you will be on the right path to where Jesus wants you to be.
He came to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement.
Beloved, before we became born again, before we gave our lives to Jesus to accept Him as our Lord and personal Saviour, we were worldly and under the authority of the prince of this world, satan.
Then, we accepted Jesus by the leading of Precious Holy Spirit and became children of God and are now under the authority of Jesus.
Precious Holy Spirit came to:
1. Declare to the world that it is guilty of sin and has the nature of sin; and needs a Saviour. And that no one can deliver them of this sin and it's nature except Jesus who is the true Saviour of this world.
2. Show and make the world know that, righteousness cannot be attained by human ways.
The only module to observe and rely on or adhere to, to live a godly life is Jesus and with His going away the only means of living this godly or upright life is by the work of Precious Holy Spirit in you.
He would teach you and direct you as to what is righteousness and how to live it without fail and even when you do fail, He will help you up to continue your walk with Jesus.
3. Make us know that judgement is not of man to pronounce neither is it of the prince of this world(satan) to pronounce but it is of Jesus who has already pronounced judgement on the prince of this world and the devil is found guilty and condemned to eternal damnation, his sentence has already been passed.
Anybody under his authority is judged as such. All those with him and for him are under the same judgement.
The world has no power to judge. Only Jesus has this power and therefore all of us who are for Him and with Him are pronounced righteous in His holy name and so long as we believe in Him and follow Him according to the leading of Precious Holy Spirit we remain righteous.
Beloved, we need to be in close and constant fellowship with Precious Holy Spirit. He is about Jesus and no one else. Therefore we also need to know and acknowledge that *IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else to dedicate it all to Him and live for Him with the help of Precious Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Father please help me to be in constant and close fellowship with Precious Holy Spirit so I will be guided according to your ways. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
