Genesis 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
When we read this verse carefully we will notice it states that in the beginning was nothing but only God. And from nothing God created everything.
Moving forward to the gospel of John we will notice there in John 1:1-3 its says:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
- In the beginning was existence of only one thing and that was God.
- All that was created was made by him; not one thing in all creation was made without him.
When we see by sight in the beginning was nothing, but when we see by faith there was everything before even anything was created.
And that everything is God himself. God is Everything, If God is all you have, you have everything you need.
In this sermon I want us to know that God is all we need and that with him we have everything. Without him we may have something’s but with God you have everything.
As the verse says in Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
This verse does not say Something’s will be added but it clearly sates that ALL shall will be added to you.
But in order to get ALL added unto our life we need God.
So today we will be looking at three steps that will help us to get God in our life.
1 - Hearing
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
First step is hearing, hearing the word of God.
What happens after hearing the word?
Faith comes
- Many claim they have faith but they don't like hearing the Word. The Bible Cleary says that faith only comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
Lets say you're going somewhere and you need someone to look after your house car and pets. I would like to ask a question,
Will you give your house key, car keys and pets to someone who you have never heard about ?
Or even to a company you have never head about ?
The answer is obviously NO.
Cause until we hear about a person we can not have faith in him . unless we read reviews of a company we can not have faith on them all we'll have is doubts cause we have never heard about them.
Likewise in order to have faith in Jesus you have to hear word of God.
Why is it important to have faith?
Because without faith it is impossible to please God
2-Faith
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
This is second and the most important step, To have faith:
it clearly states that without faith it is impossible to please God. if we look into the gospels many times Jesus have told his disciples and many others while healing them or performing any miracles he said to them have faith. He has also mentioned your faith have made you well.
So we see here how important it is to have Faith.
It’s by Faith that we can please God.
When we look at Genesis 1:4
4 God was pleased with what he saw. Then he separated the light from the darkness, (GNT)
You will notice When God was pleased he continued to create. So in order for the Lord to continue adding All unto your life you have to continue to have faith in Him.
3-Action
James 2:17
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
This verse is a eye opener it sates we can be a person with dead faith or on the other hand a person with faith that is alive.
so very clearly we know that our faith needs to stay alive.
the question here is,
What action I need to do to keep my Faith alive ?
Answer is in,
John 9:31
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
- Worship
- Do his will
Its important to keep our Faith alive, and we can do this by worshiping God and doing His will only.
Faith works with Action .Many say we have faith but the only once have ALL added to their life is the once who have faith with action.
Conclusion:
Hearing word of God + Faith In Jesus + Action of worshiping Him and doing His will only = God with you.
And when God is with you, you have everything you need.
