As humans, it isn’t unlikely for us to have our lowest moments due to everything the world throws our way. With all the problems, heartaches and tribulations we face day in and day out, we may begin to question our purpose. There will be days when you will tell Him you cannot go on any further, that this is as much as you can handle because emotions like fear and worry have overcome our faith.
“I am frightened!”
We are all frightened of something, no man is completely fearless. Anyone who says otherwise is not being truthful. Be it the upcoming bills we have to pay or the deadlines we have to meet, being afraid is perfectly understandable. Although sometimes, we get so used to being afraid that we think that feeling this way is normal, that feeling this way is expected. That is exactly what the devil wants us to believe. It wants us to take control of our lives but we have to know that as long as we stay close to God, the devil has no power over us. God has promised us peace, therefore there is no reason for our hearts to be frightened.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
“I am worried!”
Being frightened will always lead to becoming worried. We worry about what tomorrow may bring and if our needs would be given, concerns which we all do have in our everyday lives. However, let us not forget that He will provide, not only what we right now, but also all that we will ever need.
1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
“How will we keep a straight path?”
On what will we base the decisions as we try to live a faithful, blessed life? Will we rely on our own comprehension, our own knowledge based on the experiences we had? Or will we fully and completely give our trust too Him and ask Him to guide us on the decisions we’ll make? In order for us to get to where He wants us to be, we need to let go of all our restraints and accept the plans that the Lord has for us.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
You may have all the riches of the world but what good would it be if you have no God to thank for it all? We may think we are invincible, especially if we have already achieved our goals. But one move from Him and that all could be taken away. Learn to walk with Him and cast unto Him all of your troubles and desires. He will always provide.
