THE TWENTY-THIRD PSALM (Part 2)
All my fear is gone because God is my shepherd! I have no fear because i am at perfect rest.
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”
The valley describes the lowliness of death and the drought that may be in life. The valley is when life is not going as it seems. The shadow reminds us that death is always there, behind us. There is no escape from death.
Fear leaves because “HE (GOD) is with me. Greater is he who is in me…
God satisfies my longings.
“He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies…”
He, God, prepares, he is actively involved in my life. He is doing something for me. He has led and guided me so he can show me what he has been preparing for me all along.
In addition, God himself prepares a place before my enemies. Those who hate and despise me; those who would cause harm to me. Those who have not my interest at heart will be before me and i will SIT DOWN before them and commune with GOD.
“Surely goodness will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
My journey doesn’t end, my journey only has a beginning-and it is always this: to dwell with God.
