John 1:1-14
The term for Word in the Greek, is logos which meant expression. Jesus Christ is the expression of God. All that God thinks, desires, dreams is all thrown together in the Person of Jesus. Another aspect is that God speaks. The Word means to communicate. God communicates with us-His people. He wants to talk to us, he wants to talk with us, he wants us to get to know Him on a better level, a deeper level. That excities me when I think that God actually takes the time to communicate his heart with me. God wants to actally talk to me.
Yet, the Scripture actually continues to move foreword with this and tells us that the Word (God’s expression) is made flesh and dwells among us. The phrase dwells among us can be interpreted as “he pitched a tent” or “he moved into our neighborhood.” So God becomes just like us.
I know that we often think of God in other terms but the reality is that Jesus was a dude, just like us. He had parents, he had to clean his room, he had to go to school, if he fell down he got hurt. He was just like us-everyone of us.
Closing thought
If you could have a conversation with God, what would you want to talk about? What questions would you ask Him?
