WHAT IF THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION
I CORINTHIANS 15:12-20
And if you would be so kind to stand with me to give reverence to God’s Word
This morning I would like to Preach with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit on WHAT IF… THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION
PRAYER
VS 13
If is a big little word. When I read the word If I start study the why of the If. The word If is telling us that there are some question that needs to be answered.
Paul uses the word if in our text 7 times and after he uses the word IF he makes a statement or a fact.
And the question is WHAT IF THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION?
Paul answers this question
1. VS 12-13 – THERE IS NO FOUNDATION FOR OUR FAITH
The difference From What The Bible Says and all other religions is that CHRIST IS RISEN
BUDDAH IS DEAD
MOHAMMED IS DEAD
CONFUSESES IS DEAD
MARY IS DEAD
POPES HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DIE
JOSEPH SMITH IS DEAD
PREACHERS HAVE AND WILL DIE
Paul states if there is no Resurrection then Jesus is dead still in the grave and basically how can a dead God save anyone!!
If Jesus is dead we might as well let the kids find the eggs and go home!!
We have no foundation for our faith because the Bible says:
I Corinthians 3:11
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
In the Old Testament they had the faith that one day the Messiah would come to shed His blood and die and be risen again
Psalm 16:10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
IF THERE IS NO RESURRECTION WE HAVE NO FOUNDATION TO BUILD OUR FAITH ON OR OUR LIVES ON.
2. Because the Word of God is all about Jesus IF THERE BE NO R ESURRECTION GOD’S WORD IS USELESS.
Because the central theme of God’s Word is about Jesus.
There is no need to Read God’s Word – Study – Memorize – Meditate – Obey IF THERE IS NO RESURRECTION.
3. VS 14 PREACHING IS VAIN – USELESS
I have wasted almost 30 years praying and seeking the Lord what He wants me to preach.
I am wasting my time preparing – I am wasting my time Preaching.
Because there is no Gospel to preach. What am I tell you that Jesus Left the splendor of Heaven to be born of a virgin to live 33 ½ years and then He was crucified and He died and was put in the Grave? AND THAT IS IT!!
I would be like many preachers who will stand before thousands of people with no hope to give the a hopeless people
If there is no resurrection I am a fool if Christ did not rise from the grave.
4. VS 14 OUR FAITH IS VAIN – USELESS
If Jesus is dead then we are wasting our time serving Him and worshipping Him
If Jesus is still in the grave then everything we do as saved people is false – phony – and foolish
If Jesus is still in the grave just think for a moment with me.
ALL THE PREACHING YOU HAVE LISTEN TOO OVER THE YEARS IS A LIE
ALL OF OUR PRAYERS
OUR SERVICE
SINGING
WITNESSING
CHURCH ATTENDANCE
Is all a big waste of time.
Are you listening IF THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION then we are the victims of the cruelest hoax ever played out on humanity and the Christian faith is the greatest joke of all time.
IF…THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION
5. VS 15 WE ARE FALSE WITNESSES
Every time we open our mouths and sing – to witness – to testify – to preach – to teach or whatever we do in His name is a lie and we are living a lie!!!
6. VS 17 THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS FOR OUR SIN
What does that mean? Everyone here this morning we are still a sinner with no hope.
All of us are on the road that leads to a fiery thirsting tormenting place called Hell.
1. WE HAVE NO MEDIATOR
*I TIMOTHY 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2. WE HAVE NO ADVOCATE
I JOHN 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
7. VS 18-19 WE HAVE NO FUTURE
When we die we will never have any hope to see our family – friends – loved ones because they are in hell right now a place that the Bible is so dark you will only here the cries of billions upon billions of people.
VS 19 –
There is no reason to live our lives for a dead person and IF THERE WAS NO RESURRECTION we that are trying to do right and live for the Lord Jesus Christ we are the most miserable people
IF…THERE IS NO RESURRECTION
1. WE HAVE NO FOUNDATION
2. THE WORD OF GOD IS THE BIGGEST LIE KNOWN TO MANKIND.
3. OUR PREACHING IS VAIN
4. OUR FAITH IS VAIN
5. WE ARE FALSE WITNESSES OR A BUNCH OF LIERS
6. THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS
7. WE HAVE NO FUTURE
BUT NOW THE REST OF THE STORY
VS 20-22
CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE
BECAUSE CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE
1. I HAVE A FIRM FOUNDATION
A FOUNDATION THAT I CAN BASE MY LIFE ON
A FOUNDATION THAT I CAN BASE MY FAMILY ON
A FOUNDATION THAT I CAN BASE MY CHURCH ON
2. I HAVE GOD’S WORD THAT I CAN TRUST
3. PREACHING IS USEFUL NOT WASTED
4. I CAN TRUST THE LORD WITH MY LIFE
5. LIVING MY LIFE FOR CHRIST IS USEFUL
I CAN SING TO A LIVING SAVIOR
I CAN SPEAK TO OTHERS ABOUT A LIVING SAVIOR
I WANT MY LIFE TO BE A PICTURE OF MY SAVIOR
6. I CAN BE FORGIVEN

7. MY FUTURE IS BRIGHT
John 14:1-3
The facts are irrefutable
I Corinthians 15:5-8
Jesus was seen by His Disciples
500 people saw Jesus at the same time
SO THE QUESTION IS NOT IF JESUS IS RISEN BUT WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH JESUS TODAY.
YOU MIGHT BE SAYING I BELIEVE IN JESUS THE DEVILS BELIEVE AND TREMBLE BUT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HEAVEN
IF JESUS WOULD SIT RIGHT NEXT TO YOU AND ASK YOU WHY WOULD HE LET YOU INTO HEAVEN WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

SAVED PERSON WHAT OR WHOM ARE YOU LIVING FOR
BUT NOW IS CHRIST RISEN FROM THE DEAD.
JESUS IS ALIVE I SERVE THE RISEN LIVING SAVIOR!!
