INCREASE YOYR PERSPECTIVE

Key Scripture: Acts 2:42-47

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common.

And sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and sincerity of heart

Praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

When our hearts buy into a certain view of things, it creates a perspective that affects how we behave and react to different situations in our lives. Because of our perspective we limit God from being able to work powerfully and freely in every area of our lives. When we have a healthy and wholesome view of God, it creates a healthy and wholesome relationship with Him. So how do we increase our perspective of God? How do we move from our own idea of who He is to who He really is?

1. Learn His story

We sometimes find ourselves in a place where we look for a perspective of who God is elsewhere but in the Word. We cannot be men and women of faith and passion that walk in His power if we don’t know who God really is. We should meditate on the Word of God so that we can do everything in it and be prosperous and successful. (Josh 1:8)

Are we meditating on God’s Word? Are we learning His story? It’s not just about reading the Bible, but studying it and making it a part of your life. When you learn His story, it changes the way you see God and in turn it changes the way you live your life.

1.1 Col 1:15- The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominion or principalities or powers. All things were made through Him and for Him.

1.2 Isa 55:8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord.

1.3 Isa 40:28 The Lord is the Everlasting God

Learn God’s story. The more you learn about His story, the more your perspective of Him grow

2. Live His story

Jas 2::26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

We need to live His story, we need to start being a living testimony of what God has done and is doing in our lives. Our story needs to collide with God’s story so that we can encounter God in a supernatural way and experience some of the supernatural. There are numerous examples of people throughout the Bible that encountered God supernaturally because they lived out His story.

3. Share His story

Matthew 28:19 (HCSB)

19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

When we start to share God’s story, incredible as well as supernatural things start to take place: Broken marriages are restored, sick people are healed and people that have been hurt find peace and hope. All these things take place because someone took the time to share His story. God brings life to those we share His story with and our perspective of who God is grows.

Jesus wants you to share His story, He wants you to live His story and He wants you to learn His story of redemption and grace. He says if you are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of you when He comes with His angels. (Mar 8:38). Share His story because it is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe. (Rom 1:16)
