Wedding Sermon

Jesus gave importance to life of man and women. He made them as one. He called them as human. He made them in his own image and in his own likeness. He told them to be one.He emphasized the importance of the family life. He condemned the polygamy; he vouched family means one wife and one husband.
The blessings of the two by two:
1. Jesus has promised “to be present” among two. Mt 18:20
Jesus was present in Eden (Gen. 3:8). He was present in Emmaus (Lk. 24). He was present in the life of Abraham and Sarah; he was present in the life of Isaac and Rebekah.
Jesus was present in day today life of the devotees, life of the disciples who talk about his greatness and his words (Mal. 3:17). He promised that His presence will go before you when you pass through water, fire, difficulties, struggles, etc., (Is. 43:2)
2. Jesus has promised “to give whatever two ask” on earth. Mt 18:19
If two are united and ask in my name I will give them whatever they ask of me. He gives children, he gives, fruits of the Spirit. The precondition abide in Him (Jn. 15:7). Eccl 4:12 says the Cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. You, your life partner and the Lord are the best Partners on earth.
3. Bible says “two are better than one”. Eccl 4:9-12
Their efforts will give good return and fruit (v.9); one will support and lift the other when they fall or discouraged or suffering (v.10); Lie together gives rest, peace and makes them alive (v.11); and nothing can defeat them (v.12). Nothing can separate them.
Gen 2:24 talks about the one flesh. Pr. 5:18-20 talks about the husband and wife relationship. Heb. 13:4 talks about the honorable and holy bed.Husband and wife are two separate persons but no more two different bodies but one.
4. Walk together. Amos 3:3
Oneness is very essential to live together and to walk together. Walk with one mind, one thought, one plan, one purpose, one goal, one aim, and one spirit.Both of you have to decide for your future, your issues(children), and your problems.Partners who are away from each other in heart, in mind, in thought can’t get along they end up in divorce or separation.
God saw everything as good in His creation. The first thing God saw as not well was man being alone (Gen. 2:18) therefore, God created women to be the fitting alliance for man. Therefore Your work, your friends, your boss, your servant, your colleague are not good enough to replace your wife.
5. Watch together for His return. Mt 24:40-41
There will be two in field and in house but one is taken and one is left. So both of you must be alert, be watchful, be sanctified, be holy, and be at the Centre of the will of the Lord, so that you can be with the Lord while he returns secretly.

A man just got married and was returning home with his wife. THEY WERE CROSSING A LAKE IN A BOAT when suddenly a great storm arose.
The man was a warrior, but the woman became very much afraid because it seemed almost hopeless:
THE BOAT WAS SMALL AND THE STORM WAS REALLY HUGE,
And any moment they were going to be drowned.
But the man sat silently, calm and quiet, as if nothing was happening.
The woman was trembling and she said, "ARE YOU NOT AFRAID? This may be our last moment of life! It doesn't seem that we will be able to reach the other shore. Only some miracle can save us;otherwise death is certain.Are you not afraid? Are you mad or something? Are you a stone or something?
"THE MAN LAUGHED AND TOOK THE SWORD OUT OF ITS SHEATH”
The woman was even more puzzled:What he was doing? Then he brought the naked sword close to the woman's neck,so close that just a small gap was there, it was almost touching her neck.
He said,"ARE YOU AFRAID?"
She started to laugh and said,
"WHY I SHOULD BE AFRAID ?
If the sword is in your hands, why I should be afraid?
I know you love me. He put the sword back and said, "This is my answer”.
I KNOW GOD LOVES ME, and the sword is in his hands, and the storm is in his hands SO WHATSOEVER IS GOING TO HAPPEN IS GOING TO BE GOOD.If we survive, good; if we don't survive, good because everything is in his hands and he cannot do anything wrong."
