In Bounds or Out of Bounds?
I'm glory bound
Bound for that promised land
Bound and determined
Song: I'm bound for that city.
Eccl. 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Mt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
2Th 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
IL.: The baby elephant was chained to a simple stake outside the circus tent. He would tug and pull, but could not get free. He would wear himself out from all the effort. After a number of days, he quit trying. Even though he has grown and can now move trees and boulders, yet he has come to believe that he cannot get free from that small stake and chain that daily keeps him from wondering off.
There are two ways to consider about being bound.
One can be bound by the powers and forces of the enemy. Like a prisoner or an addict.
A 3-fold cord that binds.
1 Jn. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Then there is such a thing as being BOUND by the burden of the Lord.
It is a matter of choice.
A person can latch onto the burden and secure himself to its confines.
Perimeters are a good thing. They are called boundaries.
In many games, it is essential that the player does not get out of bounds. If it happens too often, he is sure to lose.
Marriage is two being bound as one.
The vow is binding.
