Psalms 18:1-2 (Amplified Bible)
To the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of the Lord, who spoke the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said: I LOVE You fervently and devotedly, O Lord, my Strength.
The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my keen and firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower.
Psalms 27:1 (Amplified Bible)

ILLUSTRATION: At 48 years of age, I spend like 4 to 6 hours in the gym every Tuesdays and Wednesdays. How can I do it? I draw strength to strength from My Strength who lives within me, inside of me. He maintains me from the inside and makes me healthy. That's why I don't need any maintenance medicine.
Colossians 1:27 (Amplified Bible)
To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.
Job 5:26 (Amplified Bible)
You shall come to your grave in ripe old age, and as a shock of grain goes up [to the threshing floor] in its season.
Psalms 92:14 (Amplified Bible)
[Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
B. I will wait upon the LORD GOD - my Strength and Defense
"I will watch and give heed to You and sing praises;"
Psalms 9:9 (Amplified Bible)
The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).
Psalms 20:1 (Amplified Bible)
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. MAY THE Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you];
Psalms 46:7 (Amplified Bible)
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
Isaiah 58:14 (Amplified Bible)
Then will you delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage [promised for you] of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.
Habakkuk 3:19 (Amplified Bible)
The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! For the Chief Musician; with my stringed instruments.
Wait or "shamar" from it's Hebrew word, means "to hedge, to guard, to protect, attend, beware, be circumspect, take heed, narrowly preserve, reserve, regard, save, sure, watch". Waiting is very hard thing to do, you wait upon the LORD, simply to guard or watch over His WORDS and His HOLY SPIRIT in our lives. To guard our hearts as well is our own responsibility while living in this sinful world. We practice our "waiting upon the LORD" by praying just like what JESUS CHRIST did when He is here on earth.
Proverbs 4:23 (Amplified Bible)
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Making sure that it's always in tune with the LORD JESUS' Presence while He was here on earth, our pattern and example of CHRISTian living. He spend His time mostly on praying that His prayer life exceeds that of His preaching life, in so much abundance and proof that the disciples wanted to be taught in praying rather than in preaching.
Luke 11:1 (Amplified Bible)
THEN HE was praying in a certain place; and when He stopped, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, [just] as John taught his disciples.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are my Strength, and my Defense in this world and in the world to come.
