Lev 14:14-18
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: [15] And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand: [16] And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the Lord : [17] And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering: [18] And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.
Lets Pray:
For Several days now The Holy Spirit has been impressing on my heart the importance and the power of the blood of Jesus.
I sense that the Holy Spirit is trying to send a strong advance notice to the church to get back to the blood, not only in our thinking but also in our speaking and in our living.
(Jos 2:18) Rahab the harlot saved herself and her entire family from destruction when she hung a scarlet thread from her window (that scarlet thread represents the blood)
(Exe 12:23) The children of Israel saved their household from the death angel when they applied the blood of the lamb to the top and the sides of their door posts.
Now lets look together at our text.
This Scripture deals with the cleansing of the leper (leprosy in the old testament was a type for sin)
What this text shows us: Is that the leper was not considered clean until the blood was applied) and after the leper was pronounced clean by the application of the blood, then the priest would apply the oil right on top of the blood: The oil was only applied where the blood was present.
The importance of that to you and I is this:
*The Holy Spirit answers to the blood,
*The Holy Spirit witnesses to the blood,
*The Holy Spirit honors the blood,
*The Holy Spirit testifies to the blood.
*The Holy Spirit waits for the blood
(in other words: The Holy Spirit only comes where the blood has been applied.)
*First it's the blood then it's the oil*
No blood (no salvation)
No blood (no justification)
No blood (no deliverance)
No blood (no sanctification)
No blood (no oil)
No blood (no power)
No blood (no anointing)
No blood (no peace)
No blood (no authority)
No blood (no joy)
No blood (no protection)
No wonder the Holy Spirit is trying to bring the church back under the blood.
The Bible says: Heb 9:22 without the shedding of blood there is no remission.
(There is no Pentecost without a Passover:)
Passover is when the death angel had to pass over the houses with the blood on the doorposts.
There was a spirit of death that looked at every house, (Egyptian and Israelite) and the only safe house was the house Under the blood.
That’s what the songwriter was talking about when he penned the words: When I see the blood, I will pass I will pass over you.
There is no fire without Blood :
On the day of Pentecost The Holy Spirit came to the upper room and baptized a 120 men and women in Supernatural Fire.
Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
You've got to go to Calvary before you can get to the upper room.
(The pathway to power is soaked in blood)
If you want to walk in power with the Lion of the tribe of Judah; you first have to be covered in the blood of the lamb.
I'm talking about the blood:
(I love the blood.) There’s something that happens in my spirit when I talk about the blood.
Something stands up on the inside of me: I feel my spirit wake up; I feel an anointing stirring up.
I thank God for the blood:
I know we’re all modern today and we’ve got access to the libraries of the world at our finger tips. We can flip on the TV any time night or day and hear someone preaching or teaching the word.
We’ve got the bible on our tablets, our I pads, and I phones, and our cell phones, we can study the Hebrew and the Greek meaning of bible words right from our cell phones, (We are in a hear it all, see it all and know it all Generation)
But for all our technology and for all our intelligence and know how, I am concerned that we have lost something.
Our grandma’s and grandpa’s didn’t have access to all the modern conveniences and technology we have today (But they had something we have lost in our modern high tech church age (They understood the importance of living under the blood of Jesus).
Those old timers would do something they would call: Plead the Blood, I plead the blood. They would plead the blood on everything: The house, the car, the cat, the dog, the chickens, the hogs, the garden,) Everything was covered with the blood.
They might not have understood it: But That word is actually a legal term (It was an answer to a judgment) The judge would say: You have been charged with such and such a crime, how do you plead } That means that the Judge was asking: What is your defense to this and the accused would answer I (plead) guilty, or not guilty by reason of insanity, or I plead the fifth.
Well that legal proceeding carries over into the Spirit realm: When the devil comes around (saying you have been accused of such and such a crime, and the devil says you have sinned and come short of the glory of God) What is your defense?
That is when you look the devil in the eye and you square your shoulders back and you say: I Plead The Blood
I plead the Blood, The blood is my defense, the blood speaks for me
Shake your neighbor real good and tell them: You better get under the blood.
You may have a pretty church, and you may have a pretty pulpit, and you may have talent and you may have skill, you may have knowledge and you may have position) but without the Blood You have no Power!!!
Without the blood you are dead ( I don't care how big, how muscular, or how pretty the body may be, without the blood, the body is dead.
I'm here to tell you today: I don't care how big or how beautiful your church may be (without the blood it's dead)
You may have beautiful singing, you may have great enthusiasm and you may even have educated preachers) but if you don't have the blood you're nothing but a pretty corpse.
Just like a dead body dressed up by the undertaker to look good for a funeral
(Without the blood, you're dead)
Have you ever wondered why there is such a fascination today in the world over zombie movies, and dressing like a zombie, and acting like a zombie? (even our commercials are advertising Zombies).
I can tell you why:
I have to post a warning here: Rough road ahead (buckle your seat belts)
It's because (The church on a large scale has become zombies)
Zombies are (the living dead, or the walking dead)
That’s what any church, any Christian without the blood is: They are the walking dead
Any church any preacher, any pastor, any believer who does not love the blood is nothing but a Spiritual Zombie.
There's no such thing as a Christian without the blood.
Jesus said: Except you eat my flesh and drink my blood (you have no life in you).
This gospel is a bloody gospel, Calvary was bloody, the cross was bloody, Jesus blood poured out of his body, Jesus carried his own blood into the holy place and offered it upon the mercy seat in heaven.
God accepted Jesus blood as an offering for sin.
And it is by and because of that same blood that we are saved today.
We are washed by that blood
We are sanctified by that blood
We are justified by that blood
We are redeemed by that blood
We are protected by that blood
We are delivered by that blood
Our conscience is cleansed by that blood
We are healed by that blood
No wonder the song writer was moved to pen the words:
There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins and sinners plunged beneath the flood lose all their guilty stains.
And another songwriter wrote these words
Come ye sinners lost and lonely Jesus blood can make you clean, for he saved the worst among you when he saved a wretch like me.
Then he began to sing these words: And i know, yes I know Jesus blood can make the vilest sinner clean, and i know yes I know Jesus blood can make the vilest sinner clean.
I really am not trying to be mean or hurt your feelings but I believe this message could be the difference between heaven and hell for you.
You may quit smoking and drinking slipping and sliding peeking and hiding, you may dress up and carry a bible and sing on perfect pitch, you may look good, smell good, and feel good, but if you haven't been to Calvary you're lost.
If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ as your personal saviour and you have not had your sins washed away by his blood, then you are lost and if you die that way you will go to hell.
God is going to hold us preachers responsible that don't tell the truth. The most important thing in your life is not a new car a new house a new wife and a new self esteem (the most important thing is your soul)
Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power (are you washed in the blood of the lamb?)
Are you daily trusting in his grace this hour, are you washed in the blood of the lamb?
Friend: (The Holy Spirit says to you today)
Lay aside those garments that are stained with sin and be washed in the blood of the lamb. There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean O be washed in the blood of the lamb.
*Come on and lift your hands right now and open your mouth and thank God for the blood.
The reason why many of our churches today are lifeless and powerless is because they are anemic (they're weak blooded, they have a blood deficiency)
That’s why they have to resort to lighting, and mood setting, and pageantry, and smoke and mirrors, and Holly wood theatrics.
Because they have no power.
And the reason they have no power is because there is no blood.
There's no blood in their preaching, there's no blood in their singing, theirs no blood in their testimony.
Rev: 12:11 And they overcame the devil by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony.
If you want to see the power of God in the church again talk about the blood, sing about the blood, testify about the blood, preach about the blood, look for the blood.
(That’s what the Holy Spirit is looking For)
That’s the question the Holy Spirit is asking every church: Where is the blood?
Just as surely as the death angel passed through Egypt and death came to every house where the blood was not applied (death is passing through the land today and the only safe place is under the blood)
Death is coming to every house that is not under the blood, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a black house, or Mexican house or Chinese house, and it doesn’t matter how religious that house is, and it doesn't matter what kind of house it is: School house, crack house, pent house white house or church house) the only house that is safe is the house that is under the blood.
Listen my beloved: There's not enough military power to keep us safe in this country, Our military couldn't stop those planes from hitting the towers on 9-11, and you don't have enough surveillance camera's or enough guns to keep you safe.
There is only one thing that can keep us safe from The devil, from Isis, from sickness and disease, from pestilence, from earthquakes, and tornadoes and tsunamis and that is the blood of Jesus.
Ask Your neighbor: Are you covered? You need more than (State Farm) or (All State) or (Nation Wide) You need to be under the blood.
America
Get under the blood
Friend get under the blood
Church family get under the blood
And when we get back under the blood we'll get back under the power.
First it's blood (then it's glory)
First it's Passover (then it's Pentecost)
First it's blood (then it's power)
Blood on the right ear
Blood on the right thumb
Blood on the big toe of the right foot
THEN OIL (After the blood was applied the priest dumped the rest of the oil on the cleansed lepers head).
The head is representative of the whole body: When the Head is anointed the body is anointed.
Somebody lift your hands and tell God: "Anoint my head with oil"
FIRST IT'S CLEANSING THEN IT'S POWER)
There is a Spirit loose in many of our churches today that is trying to strip the blood of Jesus out of our lives. This spirit goes so far as to deny the need for the blood of Jesus because you’re already saved they say, and there is no need for repentance because your sin is already covered past present and future whether you accept it or not.
But the Bible says: He that covereth his sin shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth them and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Pro 28:13
The bible was speaking of Believers failing or sinning when it says: if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1jn 1:9 it is nothing but the blood that can cleanse us from our sins.
The blood can only cleanse what you confess, and the blood can only remove what you repent of.
And it’s more than just confessing: It’s forsaking.
And repentance is more than just saying I’m sorry (repentance is a new way of living, repentance is an about face)
Another very dangerous message that is being propagated today is that repentance is just changing your mind, it’s a new mindset they say.
(But the truth is: Repentance that doesn’t culminate in a changed life, is no different than a pig in the wallow who thinks to himself, it sure would be nice to be all cleaned up, but never makes an effort to get out of the mud.
You may change your mind a thousand times a day: But true repentance has fruit, and actions, and evidence of a changed life.
True repentance is the Doorway through which Gods grace enters to empower you to quit sinning.
The prodigal son didn’t just think about getting out of the pig pen: He didn’t just change the way he thought about the pig pen) He picked himself up and set his feet on the road to the fathers house.
I’m trying to be very sweet about this: But The Holy Spirit doesn’t come to us to wallow around with us in the pig pen, (Jesus does love us just like we are, but he also loves us to much to leave us like we are).
THIS MUST BE THE CHURCHES FINEST HOUR (AND IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE OUR FINEST HOUR WE HAVE GOT TO HAVE PENTECOSTAL POWER)
And the only way to get the power is through the blood.
There is Power, Power wonder working Power in the blood of the Lamb
(The cross is the doorway to power)
If there had been no Calvary and there had been no cross and there had been no crucifixion (then there would have been no blood and no resurrection and there would have been no Pentecost and there would have been no power.)
There's no short cut to power
There's no testimony without a test
There's no victory without a fight
There's no crown without a cross
And there's no power without blood
But thanks be to God: that crimson river still flows from Calvary, That cleansing tide still flows from the saviors side, and because his blood still flows, His power is still being poured out.
The devil isn’t afraid of our singing, and he isn’t afraid of our shouting and our dancing, and he is not even afraid of our preaching: But there is one thing that sends shock waves through hell and that’s a church that lives by the blood of the lamb.
A church that knows how to plead the blood: A church that knows how to wage war by the power of the blood.
And they overcame him (by the blood of the Lamb) and the word of their testimony
