Is that for the plants?
Job 14:7"For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.”
Hope for a tree!
I saw the plants dying from the look of the shriveled leaves, with fungus on them, a novice in the field of gardening, I asked my husband, ‘can these plants survive, now since they have severe fungus on them too?’ He replied, ‘medicines are available in the market for this fungus on leaves and we would get them’; however, with our kind of crazy life, we were never able to hunt for the medicines. For some reason, I never wanted to dig the plants out and throw them away, I wanted to try feeding them with good water and nourishment. My mom Joyce, a great plant lover and plant grower, born and brought up in a hilly place, I have watched my mom bring some dead plants alive with her super -duper treatment, every bit was home-made, though.
I used my mom Joyce’s recipe: I saved egg peels, vegetable peels, water used for washing dhal and rice and many other such manure and started closely feeding the dead fellows, it became common for my children to see the ‘nutritious water’ that was stored in the corner of the kitchen, they would shout, ‘is that for the plants?’ No matter what, I would meticulously water the plants and never fail to check them as I walk pass them; there were times they looked dull and miserable; yet, I kept going. After a few months of watering and nurturing, (observe months not days) I found the dull leaves turn to beautiful light green color, the sagging leaves started to straighten out as though to ‘salute and thank me’, and most joyous treat was to see new shoots come out of the stem that looked dead earlier. What? Is that possible? Yes friend, when you diligently, meticulously, carefully, obediently and sincerely keep doing the right and good things – light shines and life starts to change for better! Glory to Jesus!
Read the above scripture, where the Bible talks about hope for the tree, further in verse 9 we read, ‘At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.’ No matter how hopeless your situation may be, no matter how stinking it may be, come back to God and His Word; He will turn you into a new creation budding with life and joy. Cheer up!
