This is a hot topic for many people around the world today; the refugee crisis. What do we do when mostly non-Christians use Matthew chapter 2 and say “Jesus was a refugee, wouldn’t you help Him?” Well let’s take a look at Matthew 2 and try to put things in perspective and context with the world today. Matthew 2:13-17: “Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” 14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.” 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”

How do we in this day and age as Christians handle the situation with the refugee crisis going on in the world? ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, and other Muslim radicals are killing and persecuting millions of people around the middle east and Africa. People are fleeing for their lives and what should we as the world do about it? What does the bible say and how can we apply it to today and the much different issues that come with refugees in 2016? First off we must have compassion and look at it from their perspective. Many are afraid, tired, hungry, uncertain they will live through the day. But we also have to see the wolves in sheep’s clothing, the tares among the wheat. So, what does scripture say? “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.” (Leviticus 19:33-34)

Romans 12:20: “To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” But, Scripture also says: Luke 22:36: “He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.” What about the Ten Commandments? I will get to those later…

David French of National Review says, “Is Jesus telling America to open its borders? To read the secular, liberal and religious Left — and to hear President Obama speak — you’d think that American Christians who argue against welcoming Syrian migrants to our shores are hateful, bigoted hypocrites ignoring clear scriptural imperatives of openness and compassion. In reality, however, Christians who urge that we care for Syrian refugees abroad rather than here at home are responding wisely to national leaders who’ve failed in their own God-ordained duties. We can be compassionate from afar, and we’d be wise to do so.” Our government is supposed to protect us, not let us be destroyed from within.

Would God have allowed the foreigner or refugee to worship a false God or Allah in the midst of the Israelites? Of course not, but the compassion and the help of the Jews would show them the love of the True God of Israel. We can show Jesus to those displaced. Those who point to a supposed Christian or western culture obligation to take these refugees into this country ignore several things. First, the situation now is much different than it was in Biblical times. Back then people didn't have access to explosives and weapons that could cause mass casualties. They also did not practice Sharia law because Islam was not invented yet. They did not have the mindset of doing any and everything to dominate the world with a religion. Since they didn't have weapons control laws back then, a significant proportion of the population had self-defense capabilities. For example, Jesus' advice to his apostles, "…whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. " (Luke 23:36) Jesus told us to protect ourselves and our families.

Second, many individual passages in the Bible are taken out of context by non-Christians to try to guilt trip true believers. They may apply in some circumstances and not in others. For example, Jesus told us to turn the other cheek in the Sermon on the Mount. That is very good advice and probably should be considered as the first option in many situations. On the other hand, Augustine and Thomas Aquinas both noted that Jesus and the apostle Paul spoke out against, rather than passively accepting being hit. John 18:22-23: “Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing. 21 Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed, they know what I said.” 22 And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”

Acts 23:1-3: “Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council, said, “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” 2 And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth. 3 Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?” They were being fed and they bit the hands that fed them. The same is occurring around the world and this is why the refugee crisis needs to be handled with love and care but in their own country or in relief camps that they can live comfortably and protected in until they can return to their own homeland. A migrant wants to assimilate into another country to work and live and abide by its laws. A refugee is fleeing danger until the danger is extinguished and they can return home. The UN and the militaries of this world have the capability to build, fund and protect refugee camps in their own or in nearby countries. I want to show an example from ancient history about what can happen:

“In AD 376 the Roman emperor Valens learned that over 100,000 Goths had massed on the far bank of the River Danube. It soon became clear, however, that this was no barbarian invasion. For this horde was made up of women and children as well as men; their leaders sought permission to cross the Danube and settle in the Roman empire as allies. Sound familiar?

Their own kingdoms had been overrun by another barbarian people, the fearsome Huns. For the Romans, this looked like a win-win situation: free manpower to address the chronic shortage in the imperial Roman army. What followed, however, was a total catastrophe. Clearly made nervous by the flood of humanity preparing to enter Roman space, officials unsuccessfully tried to limit the numbers crossing the river. Even more disastrously, any residual goodwill quickly evaporated as the Goths languished for month on month in squalid refugee camps where hunger and disease were rife. In such desperate circumstances, it was hardly surprising that the increasingly desperate refugees began raiding the surrounding countryside for food. Valens responded with the calamitous decision to march his imperial army against the Goths. The result was one of the greatest military disasters that Rome would ever suffer. At the Battle of Adrianople, Valens was killed and the vast majority of his army butchered. His successor, Theodosius, was forced to sue for peace and the Goths were in a strong enough position to demand and receive very favorable terms which allowed them to pretty much live autonomously within the Roman Empire as long as they supplied troops for the imperial army. It is not difficult to see why many historians have judged Adrianople to have marked the beginning of the end for the Roman Empire in the west.”

A huge misconception touted by liberal thinking people is that this country or Western countries are the only ones that have an obligation to take these refugees in. But that certainly is not the case. "Zakat … is a form of obligatory — compulsory, or, more recently, voluntary — alms-giving and religious tax in Islam. As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, zakat is a religious obligation for all Muslims who meet the necessary criteria of wealth." "The collected amount is paid first to zakat collectors, and then to poor Muslims, to new converts to Islam, to Islamic clergy, and others."

We should let the Muslim countries which have accumulated huge amounts of money from this country through oil exports fulfill their religious duty by taking in and caring for the refugees. There is plenty of open land in the middle east and Africa to house millions and millions of refugees. Some might claim that as a largely Christian nation we have a greater obligation than the Muslim countries. However, saying that would imply that Christianity is a superior religion and that America should operate on the basis of Christian ethics. But the Christian way of life is highly offensive in an American society which idolizes of self, sin, humanism and freedom of religion. They are flat-out hypocrites! They only want to go the Christian way when it suits their agenda. Many of our service men and women are being killed because the world and governments refuse to destroy this army of the devil!

Listen; this was in the Washington Times. “Saudi Arabia faces mounting criticism for refusing to take in any of the millions of Syrians fleeing conflict in their homeland, it was revealed that the country has over 100,000 empty, air-conditioned tents that could house up to 3 million refugees.” This is 1400 miles away from Syria and they can live, worship their religion and not have to assimilate into any other culture. If Canada or England had refugees, we would be better suited to take them in because we have the same culture, same language, most of the same beliefs. Those in the middle east and Africa should be doing the same for those fleeing to them from persecution.

But, could there be a more sinister plot at hand that wants western society and Christianity to fall? We see the devil all over ISIS and radical Islam. If you do not, you are blinded. The larger picture is a spiritual battle that is raging, intensifying and is finally on America’s doorstep. God haters and America haters want Christianity and this great nation to fall. And they are methodically doing it from within. No? Then why are our borders wide open? Why don’t we build a wall? Israel has a 430 mile wall to keep terrorists out. Another question that shows the supernatural side of this. Why haven’t we wiped this threat out? We certainly have the means to do so. Do you think King David would have let an enemy walk into Israel and try to destroy it from within? Why should we? We can help, but it does not have to be at our house. We can send help to them in or near their own homeland.

America and Christians in general are the most giving of anyone on earth. We give to hundreds and thousands of charities to help those in need. Red Cross, World Hunger, etc.…look how many billions of our tax money that we give to the UN and other countries around the world every year. Christian America is doing its part, the rest of the world needs to step it up. But, does this give us the right to deny someone in need that is already on our doorstep. No, according to scripture we are commanded by God to help them. But they still must abide by the laws of the land and be fully vetted before being allowed to dwell with society. We have plenty of places in this country to let those seeking refuge, asylum, what have you without the possible threat to American lives. The big issue we face in today’s world is that we cannot tell friend from foe anymore. This is not an issue of us as a Christian nation trying to deny those truly in need, but we are also commanded by God to protect our families and others by being careful with the company we keep. This is a different threat than any other. We are up against an ideology that not only wants to destroy western civilization; they want to destroy Christianity and Christ Himself. Let me show you what I mean with just a few news headlines:

In Europe: “It is not what the refugees used on their journey, but what they left behind unused – discarded Red Cross packaged water, crates of peaches, untouched packaged food, unopened baby diapers, brand new strollers, car seats, toys, and other necessities for someone traveling with a baby. Since these items were left behind, it is obvious that there were no babies among them. Videos are coming in from various regions showing Muslim men fighting, throwing rocks and chairs at each other, breaking windows, throwing feces, bloodying each other's noses in vicious fights, Shia fighting the Sunnis, the same centuries old senseless religious tribal animosity and hatred. Refugees have taken over Greek Islands, turning them into a gang-like war zone. Greeks are afraid, hiding in their homes, unable to go to work, or to take their children to school. There is no respect for private property and there is no civilized propriety. They are burning cars and flags, throwing feces at passing cars and at people unfortunate enough to be in the way. A witness at the Italian Austrian border, a Polish travel blog writer, describes circumstances of horror. "This huge mass of people, but these are absolute savages … Vulgar, throwing bottles, shouting loudly, 'We want Germany.'… But is Germany a paradise now?" "I saw how they surrounded a car of an elderly Italian woman, pulled her by her hair out of the car and wanted to drive away in the car. They tried to overturn the bus in which I traveled myself with a group of others. They were throwing feces at us, banging on the doors to force the driver to open them, spat at the windshield. How is this savagery to assimilate in Germany?

The bus is now damaged, covered with feces, scratched, with broken windows." His group had to travel with Italian police escort from then on. He described the entire area as a war zone. Should we not be compassionate to our fellow Muslims who, by no fault of their own, are invading Europe, fleeing a civil war in Syria? Since they are mostly young men 20-30 years old, would it not make sense that they stayed with their families and fought for their country, protecting their wives, children, and the elderly? Why trek 4,000 km to another continent whose culture they hate and despise, instead of going to the nearby rich Arab and Muslim countries that could have given them familiar shelter and religious accommodations? Saudi Arabia promised Germany that they would build a mosque for every 100 refugees they take in. Why? Are they trying to colonize Europe with Islam? Why not take these refugees into Saudi Arabia?” See what they are doing?

Another article: “Deep splits over the migration crisis risk destroying the European Union, a leading Brussels official has warned. Speaking at an emergency summit in Belgium, Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, told EU leaders that the refugee crisis was just beginning and that “mutual recriminations and misunderstandings” could precipitate the union’s collapse.” Do you not think America should be watching this? We are next! This is about world domination by a group that will do any and everything to achieve that goal. Call a spade a spade. We have members of congress and council members being sworn in with a Koran instead of the bible. We have Muslim city councils and many places are trying to implement Sharia Law. People really need to understand what Sharia Law is all about.

According to the Sharia law:

• Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand.

• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.

• Criticizing or denying Muhammad is a prophet is punishable by death.

• Criticizing or denying Allah, the moon god of Islam is punishable by death.

• A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.

• A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.

• A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.

• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.

• A woman can have 1 husband, but a man can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.

• A man can unilaterally divorce his wife but a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.

• A man can beat his wife for insubordination.

• Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.

• A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).

• A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits.

• A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).

• A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.

• Meat to be eaten must come from animals that have been sacrificed to Allah - i.e., be Halal.

• Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.

• Homosexual intercourse between men can be punished by death and the list goes on…

And people in western culture such as liberals, gays, feminists, atheists, etc.…all defend Islam and this fear based religion and they are the ones who would be killed first by radical Islamists.

Here is what God says and you can see the glaring contradictions.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make idols.

3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet.

What God says is the opposite of what we are seeing in the world today. This is how real this is getting. Listen, “On December 17, (a few weeks ago) before their holiday recess, Democrat Congressmen quietly sponsored House Resolution 569, a resolution that asks lawmakers to condemn “violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.” The resolution specifically mentions Muslims, AND no other religious groups, and will serve as a test by which further criminalizing of “Islamophobia” may be introduced. Democrats have shamelessly lumped together “hate speech” with “violence” in an effort to compare criticism of Islam to physically harming Muslims. H. Res. 569 threatens to restrict our right to even report facts that tarnish Islam’s reputation, a law that all Sharia-governed countries already have in place.” Should we not be concerned??? The spiritual war is ramping up on a greater scale than we can imagine. Why can’t people see this? Scripture tells us why.

2 Corinthians 4:4: “The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

On November 4th 2015, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) during a hearing on Capitol Hill on the growing refugee crisis in Europe said, “What we are witnessing is the destruction of Western civilization, not by an armed invasion, but instead through envelopment. The effects of this will not soon disappear, but instead could well turn out to be an historic change in the nature of many European countries." Another example: “Two South African white liberals who opened their farm to hundreds of Central African refugees who had fled “xenophobic violence” in that country; have had to flee their own farm and property in fear for their lives after their adopted “refugees” took over their farm and physically drove them off. The drama began in July 2015 when they opened their 50-acre farm to 143 foreign nationals, including children. They gave them food, clothing, comfort and allowed them to use their farm to live. Now they have taken the farm from them.

This is not about survival; this is a slow strategic takeover of western civilization. Of course people may say that I am overreaching or I am not tolerant, what have you. I don’t care. I don’t want my wife, my children or grandchildren living under the evil of Sharia Law. Me and my house will serve the Lord and we are going to live under God’s law and that is the only law we will ever live by. But sadly, many people that we know personally are helping because they are fooled by God haters who want the constitution and the Bible destroyed. Our borders are flowing like an open faucet and all of this under the guise of a “humanitarian crisis”. That we have to help people and have compassion. We have, we do and will continue to do so, but as we get distracted by the world and lusts of our flesh our country is slowly and methodically being taken down.

Do you not think that government will not push the limits to taking away our freedoms? They do it every day. As long as Americans are still comfortable, unaware and distracted, they will keep doing it. The devil knows that America, Christian America has to fall. We can help the refugees and show compassion, but at the same time protect ourselves. God says in Hosea 4: “My people perish for a lack of knowledge…” Do not be duped into being guilt tripped because you are a Christian. People that try to use the “Jesus was a refugee” argument always like to leave the most important parts out: Joseph and Mary assimilated and obeyed the laws of Egypt while they were there. They had no ulterior motives; they were trying to stay safe where God led them.

Matthew 2:19-23: “Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.” 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.” Unlike the refugee crisis of today there is a most astounding point to all of this: Jesus, Mary and Joseph went back home to Israel as soon as they could…
