Luke 13:10 10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the temples, 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over double and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. 14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.” 15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” 17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

Two Kingdom of God & Kingdom of Satan: God is a supernatural God who empowers believers to walk in the supernatural. Satan also has supernatural powers and gives these to people. We need to move in the power of God and expose the counterfeit. It is estimated that over 12 million Americans are addicted to witchcraft of some kind." Matthew 16:18 The “Gates Of Hell” Shall Not Prevail. The phrase “gates of hell” is found once in the Bible. Here, Jesus refers to His church for the first time as well as the building of His church when He had not established His church. “Church” from Greek is “ekklasia” meaning “called out” or “assembly.” So the church is the assembly of people who have been called out of the world by the gospel. Bible Scholars agree that the phrase “gates of hell” refers to ancient times when cities were surrounded by walls with gates. In battles the gates were usually the first place the enemies assaulted because security of the city was determined by the strength of its gates. Thus, “gates of hell” means the powers of Hell / Hades. Hades designated the place to which everyone who departs this life descends regardless of moral character. Though Jesus would be crucified and buried, He would rise from the dead and build His Church and the powers of death would not stop it. Not only would the church be established in spite of the powers of hell, but the church would survive in spite of these powers.
Luke 4:14 (Isaiah 61) 14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. 16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to Preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Deliverance must be preached. People must hear about it and make the choice to be set free.
Psalm 107:15-21 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 14 He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains. 15 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 16 for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.

Spiritual Warfare Makes Some Uncomfortable. They believe there’s no such thing as spiritual warfare and won’t discuss it for: Fear of ridicule, retaliation by evil forces, or glorifying the topic.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
3 PARTS OF A HUMAN BEING
Humans Are Complex - Tripartite Being - 3 Distinct Entities: Body, Soul & Spirit. God & Satan Can Do Nothing On Earth Unless They Use A Body. As Christians, we are mandated to enter in the spirit world and pull down strongholds and gates of the devil with God’s power. Matthew 11:12“…the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent takes it by force.” In Genesis 1:27, God Formed A Frame Out Of Dust, breathed his spirit into the body, it became a living soul. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

1. The Body: The physical component. It is flesh and collection of elements mostly water – oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, etc. This body is in harmony with the nature of this world. It grows, matures, deteriorates, dies, and decomposes back to elements in the dust.
2. The Spirit: Illustration: Acts 8: Simon the sorcerer. This is the source of power and control for body & soul - either darkness or light, unclean or clean, of Satan or God. This portion when renewed, affects the body & soul. 2 Cor. 5:17 If any man... 1 Cor. 2: God communicates with the spirit. Where your soul spends eternity is determined by choice of your spirit.
3. The Soul: This is who you are. It cannot be killed by man. Matthew 10:28 “Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." When the body dies, the soul leaves the flesh and returns to God.
OUR ADVERSARIES OPERATE IN VARIOUS LEVELS OF AUTHORITY (EPHESIANS 6)
1. Principalities: High level chief rulers in the atmosphere who represent Satan’s kingdom as princes. In Greek “arche” means chief or ruler. Principalities are ruling demonic spirits or devils possessing executive authority or governmental rule in the world over specific territories and regions – a particular nation, people or race (Daniel 10).
2. Powers: The Greek word for "powers" is “exousia” which means derived or conferred authority from Principalities. They inflict to reduce quality of life:Terrorism, violence, poverty, drug, diseases, crime, prejudice, homosexuality, etc. Example: Genesis 18 - Sins of Sodom and Gomorrah brought destruction and death. God destroyed them because not even 5 were saved.
3. Rulers Of The Darkness Of This World: Evil rulers or agents of this world associated with idolatry, pagan gods, witchcraft, magic, voodoo, demonic practices. Rulers operate to bring spiritual blindness to regions. Acts 19 Ephesians worshipped Diana. Sons of Sceva - demons.
4. Spiritual Wickedness In High Places: Influence lawmakers / authority to make laws that hinder worship of God. 2 Cor. 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
SATAN EXERCISES AUTHORITY OVER US THROUGH THREE KINDS OF CURSES (Expand)
1. Universal Curse (Original Sin): All have sinned (David). Can lead to eternal damnation / hell.
2. Generational Curse (Ancestral Sin): 2 Kings 5: Elisha & Gehazi. Cannot lead to eternal condemnation but to struggles. These curses are passed on to individuals because of sins perpetuated in family generations. They bring bondage during an individual’s life, reducing the quality of life, until that individual addresses the sin that put the curses in place. Luke 11:24 When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.'
3. Personal Curse (Individual Sin): Ananias & Sapphira. You reap what you sow. We act and reap results. Absence of moral or spiritual values – wickedness. When we choose to sin.
4. Witchcraft Curses: Curses placed on us by witches – many are involved in witchcraft. They go to witches for solutions to problems. If you are their problem, the witches put curses on you.
5. Curses By People Who Are Not Witches: People can place curses just by what they say about other people - “spoken curses”. The worst is “Charismatic Witchcraft” - curses from ignorant Christians who pray their will instead of the God’s will. When a Christian prays a selfish prayer against another, God does not hear that prayer but the devil does. It gives the devil a legal right to send a demon to observe that person, looking for legal right to make curse operational.
6. Self-Imposed Curses: What you say about yourself may become a curse. If you say something negative about yourself, you are giving the devil permission to act on you. Be careful also what you speak on your children and your family.
WHAT WE OUGHT TO KNOW ABOUT SPIRITUAL WARFARE – DON’T FEAR.
1. Satan Is Limited: He is a fallen angel and is not equal to God; He is not omnipresent (All places at once); He is not omniscient (All knowing); He is not omnipotent (All powerful); He is unaware of thoughts / mind. He manipulates minds to influence thoughts.
2. Mighty Weapons For Spiritual Warfare: Blood of Jesus; Name of Jesus; Word of God mixed with faith; The Holy Spirit; Praise & Worship, Prayer / Intercession. Fellowship.
3. We Fight From A Position Of Victory: Whether we fight individually or corporately, we are God’s Children fighting from a position of victory against an enemy already defeated.
EXAMPLES OF DEMONS ATTACKING THE CHURCH IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
1. Simon The Sorcerer in Samaria & Philip: Acts 8: Philip went to Samaria that was dominated by the influence of Simon the sorcerer. People were oppressed. Demon came out crying with pains. Many were held captive by his magic power and followed him. Philip preached Jesus and demonstrated God’s power by healing the sick and casting out demons. The city turned to God. Simon was converted. Holy Ghost came. He envied power. In “gall of bitterness”.
2. Elymas The Sorcerer in Cyprus & Paul & Barnabas: Acts 13: Jewish sorcerer & false prophet, attendant to the proconsul. Placed by Satan to stop the gospel from making headway. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (Bar-Jesus) withstood them, trying to stop them from preaching and turning the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, from the faith. Paul cursed him with blindness.
3. A Certain Young Girl in Philippi And Paul & Silas: Acts 16:16-24. "...A certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying". She followed them everywhere proclaiming: “These men are the servant of God.” True but a diversionary strategy. Paul & Silas commanded the evil spirit to leave her.
4. Sons Of Sceva in Asia & Paul: Acts 19:11-16. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

JESUS' FOUR IMPORTANT TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR DELIVERANCE (LUKE 13)
You Can Be Delivered From Sins And Unto God But There Are Bondages From The Past That Need To Be Overcome (Simon the Sorcerer & Demas). Christians cannot be demon possessed but can be demon oppressed. Now, The Passage: Jesus Never Performed Miracles Just To Excite People. His miracles always served to bring glory to God, to meet the needs of people, and to bring to them heaven. 1 John 3:8 …The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. As Jesus taught the Word of God, He saw this woman. He spoke a command of faith into her and laid His hands on her. She was healed and gave God praise.
1. She Was A “Daughter Of Abraham” (16). “This Woman, Being A Daughter Of Abraham”. She was of the “seed” of Abraham. She had a covenant relationship with God that provided healing. Healing is the children's bread (Exodus 15:26 If you obey I will not bring any of those diseases on you I brought on the Egyptians.) Exodus 23:25-26 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you; and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. Deuteronomy 7:15 The Lord will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. Psalm 103:1 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits - 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
2. She Was “Satan Bound” (16). “...Whom Satan Hath Kept Bound For Eighteen Long Years”. Illustration: Tie Someone With Rope. Her infirmity was not caused by God, it was caused by Satan. God did not send it to her to make her more holy or to teach her something. The Bible calls it a “spirit of infirmity” and Jesus referred to it as “bondage.” John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” That which “steals, kills and destroys” has its origins in the work of Satan.
3. She “Ought To Be Loosed” (16). This Woman Ought To Be Free From This Bondage. She ought to be healed. Even on the Sabbath Day! It was more important that this woman be free from sickness than what they should do or not do on the holy day. Many people allow religious tradition to blind them to the mercy and grace of God. They allow Satan to rob them of the power of God for today. God wants to bring healing, wholeness, and salvation.
4. She Had People Close To Her Who Did Not Want Her Free - Enemies Became Sad (Luke 13:14-17). 14 “And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation... all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.” It is not everybody that wants you to be free. The ruler and other religious leaders of the synagogue did not want Jesus to heal her. They got angry. In the end, she was healed and they were ashamed. Your enemy will be ashamed to see you free In Jesus' name.
THESE STEPS CAN HELP YOU DISCOVER FREEDOM FROM YOUR PAST.
1. Recognize The Curse. To get set free and stay free, you have to admit you have a problem.
2. Break The Curse. As we apply God's Word to our lives, and choose to walk in righteousness and obedience to God, the chains of bondage will be broken. 3 Steps to breaking a generational curse: (1) Give your life to Jesus (2) Fight the battle with spiritual weapons (Word, fast & prayer, etc.); (3) Regain control over the power of your will. Through the blood, we can say no.
3. Reverse The Curse. Reverse the curse by recognizing your enemy and forgiving others.
4. Release The Power Of Love. We must not only get rid of what holds us captive and keeps us in bondage, but we must also be filled up with love for God, self and others.
5. Develop A Godly Attitude. A good attitude does not make everything go perfectly all the time. Matthew 5:45 God sends the rain on the just and the unjust. But our attitude determines whether the rain will water the seeds of our harvest or wash those seeds away.
6. Align Your Words With God's Words. Words give evidence of faith and should reflect God's good purposes for you. Exchange your negative words, thoughts and actions for positive ones.
7. Accept God's Acceptance. Jesus didn't come to condemn or punish us. He came to give hope that our lives can be different. Don’t live under the burdens of pain, hurt, shame or sorrow.
8. Walk In Obedience. In order to break free from the curses and walk in freedom, you must learn to walk in obedience to God's ways. We don't have to be perfect or without mistakes.

Jesus Is Still In The “Healing Business.” He still ministers grace & power to those who suffer from the oppressions of the devil. God’s power is not manifested because we have a need, but because we have faith in His promises. The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34) touched the hem of Christ’s garment - physically with her hand but spiritually with her faith. In verse 34 Jesus says to her: “...Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” If you are trusting God for a physical need in your body, be encouraged today. Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Remove Anything From Your House Or Body that is a cursed or forbidden object – astrology charts, books, demonic pictures, statues, or games, etc. Avoid negative talk about yourself and others. Be faithful to do this daily. Pray. Seek prayer and support of others.
1. Breaking Unholy Alliance (Soul Ties): Heavenly Father, I give my life to you right now. I confess, repent, renounce, break and disconnect myself from any unholy soul ties formed between me and any entity through sin or thought. I now command any evil spirits which have taken advantage of this unholy soul tie to leave me now in the name of Jesus!
2. Renouncing Involvement With Demonic Music Or Habits: Heavenly Father, I confess that I have listened to unhealthy demonic music, seen filthy videos, etc. I ask that you will forgive and cleanse me from these sins. In Jesus' name, I also renounce, break and nullify any curses that I may have come under as a result of listening or seeing unhealthy music or video.
3. Breaking Generational & Personal Curses: In the name of Jesus, I confess the sins and iniquities of my parents, grandparents and all other ancestors. In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I now renounce and break all cords of iniquity and generational curses I have inherited from my parents, grandparents and all other ancestors and break all unholy soul ties formed between myself and my parents, grandparents and all other ancestors. In the name of Jesus, I now loose myself and my future generations from any bondages passed down to me from my ancestors and I command any evil spirits which have taken advantage of these cords of iniquity, generational curses and unholy soul ties to leave me now in the name of Jesus! Father, I also command any evil influence that may have impact on my life as a result of choices I have made to go now in Jesus name. Holy Spirit, come in now and heal, cleanse and empower me for success in Jesus’ Name.
ISAIAH 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
