GOD’S PROGRAM FOR MY CHURCH IN 2016 Acts 3: 19-21
Peter gave God’s program when he gave this plea unto Israel. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” This plea followed the great miracle of the healing the lame man in the name of Jesus Christ. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, began to preach the Word of God unto them. The first thing on God's program is summed up in the word.
I. REPENT.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out.”
A. REPENTING INVOLVES CONFESSION.
Confess your faults.
B. REPENTING INVOLVES A CONVERTING.
There will be a turning from sin unto God.
C. REPENTING INVOLVES A CLEANSING.
That your Sins might be blotted out.
II. REFRESHING.
“When the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
David cried in Psalm 63:1 , “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land”
A SPIRITUAL REFRESHING WILL BRING:
A. A Pentecostal rain.
B. A Pentecostal revival
C. A Pentecostal result
III. RETURN.
“And he shall send Jesus Christ which before was preached unto you.”
1. It should bring separation.
2. It should bring sanctification.
Leviticus 20:7,8 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.
II Tim. 2:19,20 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
3. It should bring service. Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
