15 days with Peter!
Galatians 1:18 “Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days.”
As I read the above scripture, I remember the days back while I worked, when I would sit with my friend on the staircase with tea cup in my hand during tea breaks and narrate to her my talk with God that morning, she would listen to me without batting her eyelids. Shortly she got hooked on to Jesus and got water baptized too, she’s still going steady in her faith and passion for God, she still listens to me when I speak to her over the phone.
One elderly uncle around 60 years old, who regularly attended our all-night prayers in Chennai, told my husband, ‘I remember hearing the message from sister Bala in the quietness of the night, since then my life has never been the same.’ He got converted through our ministry and also took water baptism, besides him his entire family accepted Jesus Christ and got converted too, until today wherever our meetings are conducted, they make it a point to attend as a family. Such would be the impact when you meet and talk to people who are passionate about God!
Three years after conversion, Apostle Paul does not care to visit Gamaliel, his old teacher, or any of his fellow-students but he goes looking for Peter, the disciple who rubbed shoulders with Jesus Christ on earth for around three years! Oh! How wonderful! Precisely that is why I titled this message as ’15 days with Peter’! The man who gave his boat to Jesus and later his heart and life too! The man who dropped his net and walked behind Jesus! The man who got so attracted to Jesus that he walked on water when Jesus called , the man who picked up a shekel from the mouth of a fish to pay taxes, the man who said, ‘Jesus wash not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!’ The man whose shadow later carried such thick anointing that the sick were healed and unclean spirits fled when the shadow of Peter fell on them. Boy! Look at that! Apostle Paul went looking for such an anointed man, not to grab his anointing but to know more about the God who is responsible for such a powerful anointing on Peter! His name is Jesus Christ! Peter and Paul would have discussed, talked, pondered and reminisced about Jesus! Paul must have gobbled up every bit of delicious news about Jesus! 15 days they discussed nothing but JESUS! It certainly changed Paul’s life! Apostle Paul wrote more epistles in the Bible than Peter!
