Spooky Spiders!
Deuteronomy 28:7"The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!”
I'm not scared of spiders; nevertheless, I don’t want to see them anywhere in my home; I want to get rid of them. Have you ever tried smashing them on the wall, they are smart runners, they would scoot before you shoot. Recently I had a close encounter with the insect in my kitchen, I chased until I captured it, then I saw something that day! The eight long legs of the spider just coiled inwards as the fellow died and the lifeless body of the spider looked like a small shrivelled ball. Their size comes from their long legs! Don’t we also unnecessarily get scared of things that are just like these spiders which look big and scary with the eight long legs that actually fold up when you attack? We fear because we lack understanding! Are you with me?
Spider decorations are used in Halloween parties just to make the party spooky, but what is spooky of that insect anyway? We fear insects crawling on the wall because we have been crawling babies as well, refusing to mature and grow up!
Women walk out on marriages fearing another woman who is creating havoc, shoo the ‘spider’ away instead of walking away from a sacred relationship. Fight the battle, be a warrior! When you get married who said it is going to be cake walk? Tell me. Don’t take the brief case to pack up your items for every silly ‘spider fight’, are you there? Identify the problem and chase the spider away, keep your life clean so that spiders don’t spin their web right inside your bed room. Spiders don’t stay in clean place! Are you listening?
With bronze helmet on his head, and clothed with scale-armor which weighed five thousand shekels of bronze, giant Goliath looked intimidating and nerve-racking, king Saul and all Israel were dismayed and greatly afraid, observe the words, ‘all Israel’! Not one single Israelite had the nerve to stand against the giant, but only David looked at Goliath as a spider and not as giant. He was able to say, “I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted!” (1 Samuel 17:45) Amen.
Fear not the formidable, daunting personality of the enemy, for your God is powerful and mighty, "Heaven is His throne, and the earth is His footstool.”
