THE COMING OF OUR LORD
James 5: 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
James 5: 7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
Each day the return of the Lord draweth nigh.
We need to be patiently waiting , watching for this glorious moment.
Are you ready?
1. Lean to be patience.
The early rain is in abundance.
To soften the soil
To sow the seed.
To spring up the sprout.
The later rain is in showers.
To finish the growth of the fruit.
To give the plants fertilizer
To finalize the grain for future.
2. Live a life prepared.
Matthew 24: 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
The saved can meet the Lord unashamed.
1st John 2: 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
The saved must give an account.
2nd Cor.5: 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
The saved can and will admonish.
3. Look at the prophecies.
Genesis 3: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
49: 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
Isaiah 7: 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 9: 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The prophecies are as sure as God himself.
His prophecies are simple to understand
His prophecies are scriptural not man made.
4. Lean on the Lords promises.
Hebrews 10: 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Out of 260 chapters in the New Testament there are 318 promises.
Jesus himself promises his return.
The angels promised his return.
5. Listen to the preaching.
James 5: 9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
We need to proclaim the sacred word of his return.
Plead fo sinners to get ready
Plan for the shout of his appearing
Presently he is standing looking for you
