My wife Brenda and I were born in 1948. That was the year that Israel became a nation again prophesied by Isaiah chapter 66 and others. Ezekiel 37:14, Isaiah 43:5 and Isaiah 66:7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Matthew 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Brenda and I are that generation in hopes to be in the Rapture. To meet the Lord in the air with all our family and friends and be with the Lord forever!
Brenda and I were married June 10th 1967. In that year is what was called The Six Day War beginning on June 5 and ending on June 11th 1967. The Israelis regained their old city of Jerusalem along with the Gaza Strip and the Sinai to the Suez Canal history records. They defeated the Arabs. The Israeli Air Force defeated Jordan, Syria, and Iraq, and by the end of the day had won a great victory. It is also recorded that thousands of Jews wept while bent in prayer at the Second Temple’s Western Wall.
Finally, today is my birthday. I was born December 25 1948. My Mom told me that Dad use to say jokingly that if “he is not a boy with blond hair and blue eyes, don’t bring him home” Well, lucky for me I was born with blond hair and blue eyes. But now, I’m almost bald with blood shot green eyes. But, I know if my Dad was still living he would love me just the same. I thank God for great parents who taught me the honest and morale way of life.
The older I get the more Heaven seems like my home. We never know what the future holds for us. That’s all the more reason to trust the Lord. Because our Lord knows the future of His people. He even knows how many hairs I have left on my head. Jesus said in Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Another year is just around the corner and this past year is slowly becoming history. We can face those things that lie ahead without fear and we can thank our Lord for yesterday. It’s been said that “fear not” is in the Bible 365 times. I haven’t counted them but, when in need God will supply one of His fear nots for each day if we ask. Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Christmas day is certainly not about me and my birthday. It’s about God who was born baby Jesus to die as a sacrifice for our sins. He can heal the cripple, make the blind see, and take the fear out of living and fear of dying because He lives we can face tomorrow.
