1 Chron 4 v 9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

II. HIS PRAYER 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, I. FOR GRACE - Jabez called on the God of Israel "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." II. FOR GROWTH "Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed and enlarge my coast" III. FOR GUIDANCE - and that thine hand might be with me,
Rom 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God."
IV. FOR GODLINESS - that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!
III. HIS PRIZE God granted him that which he requested.
