Title: Running On Empty
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV:
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Introduction: Have you ever drove your car when it was on empty? Have you ever said, "It feels like I am running on empty." Sometimes we think we are running on power and don't realize that we are running on empty. How do we gain our strength back?
Application: The 1st step is to recognize that we can't do everything. We think that we are Superman and Wonder Woman, but we are not. Sure, God will give us strength and the anointing to do it, but we got know when the strength is gone and the anointing is lifted that our task is finished. Don't try to work on fuse when you that the gas is gone out. We are humans and we need to get rest.
The 2nd step is to know who is drawing your strength out. Ask God is drawing strength out of me. Here are some ways you'll know if somebody is drawing strength from you. 1. If you the person or thing keep knows that you can do it and the ability to do it too. Get away from then. 2. If the person or thing wants to try to get answers out of you and they know you got it and they don't want to go through it to do it themselves. Get rid of them. 3. If the person or thing is trying to volunteer you all the time to something and don't want to get off their do-nothing and volunteer. Run for your life. 4. If the person or thing is showing affection and you can feel that the strength is drawing out of you. Head to the hills.
The 3rd and final step is to know where your strength comes from. God is our strength. Psalms 121:1 says, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." Isaiah 40:31 says, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;and they shall walk, and not faint." You are strong when weak.
Conclusion: Lord, you are strength like no another that reaches to me.
