God’s Faithful Servant.
1KINGS 22:7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
Today we see the importance of being a faithful servant to God no matter where you are in your circumstances, or who is in front of you, no matter what position they possess. Micaiah is a true prophet of God and, he is faithful in delivering God’s Word whether it is liked or unlike (1 Kings 22:14). In this case, Micaiah is speaking to two Kings, one is righteous, and the other unrighteous.
1. Micaiah was hated by the unrighteous. (V:8b)
First, we see Micaiah the prophet of God is hated by the unrighteous King Ahab (V:8b, but I hate him). Whenever you stand on God’s Word the devil’s children will come right in and attack God’s message because it condemns there lifestyle. God’s Word is truth and it cuts like a double edge sharp sword into their heart, and when it cuts they holler.
2. Micaiah was reverenced by the righteous. (V:8c)
Second, we see the righteous King Jehoshaphat giving reverence to the man of God (V:8c, Let not the king say so). The righteous will always be able to discern between good and bad, and tell what is and is not of God by the Holy Spirit of God dwelling inside. A righteous person should receive God’s Word with joy and faithfully obey what God has ordered, because a good man's steps are ordered by the Lord (Psa 37:23).
3. Micaiah went against the incrowd. (V:6a)
Third, here we see Micaiah went against the in crowd. Ahab had 400 prophets that were all yes men, but none were God’s men. In God’s eyes one righteous man is worth more than 400 unrighteous false prophets (Gal. 2:6). What Micaiah stated contradicted what the other 400 had stated and there are many today who claim to be preachers that preach what God didn’t say and is not found in God’s Word, or it contradicts God’s Word.
4. Micaiah still received God’s Word while in prison. (V:9)
Fourth, we see that God’s Word was never hindered because His prophet was in prison. God will speak to you no matter where you are at or what your circumstances are just as long as you stay faithful and true to God.
5. Micaiah was God's true prophet.(V:32-39)
Fifth,we see farther down in chapter 22 that God’s Prophet Micaiah did speak the truth and if Israel and Judah would have listen and obeyed to what God said through His prophet, many lives would have been spared and a good King would not have fallen (Ephesians 5:11).
